We love Vancouver band BRASSTRONAUT so we were thrilled to play a small part in the video for their new song, Hawk. Thanks to OURO Collective, Anthem Jackson, and cinematographer Mark Edwards for including us. http://ow.ly/IUg0307gZoy

One of our favourite winter events is the annual Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival, and it's back Jan 17 - Feb 14! Details are still TBA, but you can expect around 25 cafes and bakeries around the city to offer a multitude of hot chocolate versions, stretching from the traditional to the experimental.

You know how much we love twinkling holiday lights, but a close second on our list of things we love about this time of year is the baked goods! Vancouver's bakeries, patisseries and chocolatiers go all out to impress us. Just over the Granville Street bridge is Beaucoup Bakery & Café - this year they have a selection of chestnut holiday items including an incredible Lemon Chestnut Croissant (pictured here). A little further into Kitsilano is the legendary Thomas Haas- Patisserie-Chocolate Café - we'll be your friend forever if you pick up one of those adorable truffle trees for us! If you're sticking downtown, you can't go wrong with anything at Thierry | Chocolaterie Patisserie Cafe but the collection of Buches de Noel are especially impressive.

WHAT'S MY NAME LACEY? WHAT'S. MY. NAME??? I really love this hotel; it is my new favourite for when I stay in Vancouver! The rates are reasonable, the staff provides superior service, and it shows that The Burrard has a great sense of humour & knows how to have fun. I can't wait to stay here again!

Had an exceptional stay here. Staff are friendly and helpful. The retro theme is adorable. Clean rooms. Great location. I very much enjoyed the free bicycle rentals and complimentary use of umbrellas! Also their attached cafe makes lovely lattes. Overall an awesome experience.

Quality renovations. Right near the hospital, corner stores and cafes. Quick walk to retail stores. Free bag of candy.

A hotel with a very nice quaint retro style. The aisles and the rooms look into an inner patio, full of air, light and plants. Our room had been redecorated recently, and I guess all rooms have been. The price is reasonable.

Convenient location and good service. Everything was clean when we got there and they provided free espresso and bottled water in the room, along with a little welcome package of candy. Overall I have nothing to complain about!

We lived our stay at The Burrard! A lot of the reviews here are really unfair. People are nitpicking stuff like small sinks and city noise, which are ridiculous reasons for taking points away. The hotel itself has a style you won't find anywhere else. The staff was super friendly with us and helped with every question we had. The room was clean and although a bit small, still perfect for our needs (how much time do you even spend in your hotel room while on vacation?). The patio area in the center of the hotel is beautiful and really relaxing. There isn't a bar, but you can grab your own drinks nearby and pop them at the hotel. Parking is a bit tight, but still conveniently located downstairs. Some people were complaining about limited bikes in the reviews, but on a Friday and Saturday there were about 15 of them available at 10am. Bottom line: if you can appreciate the style and humor this hotel provides, you'll love it! We will definitely be back!

Positive: The Bhrrard has put in a lot of effort to keep up its appearance. The retro look works very well for it and the pictures deliver on the reality. It's not crusty like a Best Western and is very welcoming to all kinds of guests. At least during events, the seems to be a doorman/bouncer who keeps non-guests in check. Negative: Guest parking is minimal but they suggest parking across the street at the hospital until a spot frees up (hospital parking is $9 less than the hotel so we just kept the car there instead. Upon arriving, the front desk concierges weren't the most friendly and when trying to solve a problem, they were helpful but very grudgingly so.

Very clean rooms and great location. Rooms are a bit small but the area is great so you shouldn't be spending too much time in the rooms. Definitely would stay again.
