Response from the owner - a week ago
Dear Mr. Ferguson, Thank you very much for posting your review on Google! We really appreciate your comments and we also appreciate that you visited the Second Story restaurant here at the hotel. We are very proud of the culinary team and they take great pride in providing as you have described “delicious food” for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It sounds like a little of our associates authentic hospitality made an impact as well. We are very happy you felt cared for and received the level of service you expected while staying in our hotel. Best Wishes Michael C Hotel Manager

Great small hotel in Manhattan Beach. From there outside it doesn't look quite as pleasing, but the inside had been updated. It feels very elegant and beachy. The rooms are not bad either. Valet were very nice.

The room was amazing, we had our own personal balcony and it was so clean. The staff were all very polite and helpful. We even mentioned when asked it was our anniversary and we were suprised with a bottle of champagne and free breakfast vouchers. This hotel simply went above and beyond. I will recommend to everyone I know and will be returning very soon. Thanks!

I have nothing but good things to say about The Belamar Hotel. We stayed here for 10 nights, booked through Expedia. The hotel itself was clean and well equipped. There is a small but perfectly functional fitness centre which was unoccupied every time we visited, the pool and hot tub is ample for the size of the hotel and if you arrive early you will find it empty for you to enjoy all for yourself. There is a nice peaceful courtyard area to relax in if you want to be outside in the California sun. Once the sun sets they have gas heaters and gas fire pits to keep you feeling warm. The Second Story restaurant is worth a visit in it's own right, even if you aren't staying here. The food is great and the service at the bar couldn't be better either. The lobby sports some funky decor and don't forget to check out the daily rotation of flavoured waters as you pas through. A small addition perhaps, but a nice little touch to make it stand out from every other hotel you have ever stayed in.

The staff was very friendly. The room was clean, and had a refrigerator in it! About a mile and a half from Manhattan beach you can rent a bike and head on down. About a 5-10 min walk to a grocery store, some restaurants and shopping.
