run in the ocean, you float and swim. Like this once you
come to the Master, seeking stops, blossoming begins."

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on "Going from conflict to innocence."

Fights can only happen among equals. When you fight with someone, you make them equal. But in reality there is no one at par with you. When you keep people either above or below you, then there is no fight. When they are above you, you respect them. When they are below you, you love them and you feel compassionate. Either submission or compassion can take you out of a fight in no time. This is one way to look at it when you are tired of fighting. When you are well rested, just fight and have fun.

The same is true of the mind. As long as the mind thinks it is equal to the senses, there is conflict. When it realizes that it is bigger than the senses, there is no conflict. And when the mind is smaller than the senses, like in animals, there is no conflict. When the mind is caught up in the senses, there is constant conflict. When it transcends the senses, it comes back to its true nature, which is innocence - in no sense.

Q: How to deal with fear and negative thoughts?

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
Never mind. Thoughts are thoughts. As long as you are aware that these thoughts are coming, you are very safe, because these thoughts come and go.

Negative thoughts come due to several reasons:

1. Lack of good circulation in the body, and improper proper breath or not enough oxygen supply to the brain.

2. Lack of good bowel movement; if you are constipated, you can notice negative thoughts coming.

3. Low prana or no energy.

The remedies for this is:

1. Improve circulation. Get up, do your exercise, sing, dance, do yoga, meditation, pranayama; all these will help.

2. Do some cleansing once or twice a year. If you have not done Art of Living Yoga Level II, where you learn to drink water and cleanse your whole system through Kunjal (cleans the throat and the stomach) and Shankha Prakshalan (cleans the complete elementary canal, from mouth to anus), you should do it.

When you drink a lot of water and do a set of exercises, the water will cleanse your body and flush out the entire system. This is the reason why yogis advised these kriyas since ancient times. It has helped many people to clear thoughts.

3. Keep good company. Company can also pull down your energy.

In spite of all this, if you get negative thoughts, never mind, as they come they will go. If you get scared of them, they will stay with you. If you are not scared, they just leave you.

8. At All Costs, Save Your Mind!

In your day to day life, people come and put some negativity in you, and that makes your mind and your determination shaky. Don’t let this happen. Put a filter to your ears and just smile through it.
It is natural and common that people will put out some negativity, but when you are deeply connected with your Self, and when you have intuition, then you will just smile through all such incidents. You will put a filter in your ears.
That is how the world is. There are some pleasant and some unpleasant things. How we manage them and keep our direction, that is what is most important.
