Introduction

Learn the art of Thai Massage, also called Thai Yoga Therapy, Nuat Thai or Nuad Boran in therapeutic Thai bodywork training intensives with Certified Instructors Chuck Duff and Jennifer Wright in NCBTMB approved certification trainings at Thai Bodywork School in Evanston, IL.

Traditional Thai Massage, evolved from the ancient healing traditions of Ayurveda, yoga and Thai Buddhism, employs hands, feet, arms and legs to guide the recipient through a series of yoga postures with fluid movements, gentle pressure and stretching.

Our program, structured as a series of intensives, presents the traditional Thai massage and Thai herbal compress sequences in a hands-on curriculum consisting of over 350 hours. Our constantly-expanding advanced curriculum includes Clinical Thai Bodywork, Thai herbal compress certificationand HandsFree™ Thai massage.

Thai Bodywork offers a 220-hour Certified Thai Bodywork Practitioner (TBP) program, as well as numerous topic-specific Thai massage workshops in the most extensive Thai bodywork-focused program available in the USA. Classes are open to all and approved for massage continuing education credit by NCBTMB.

Clinical Focus

While traditional programs teach many techniques and sequences, there is a frustrating absence of insight as to why the techniques should be chosen or not, and what specific muscular issues they are useful for. These programs tend to be teach the student to imitate rather than think.

Our mission is to teach Thai bodywork in a clinical context with a deep understanding of muscle function and myofascial trigger point therapy, so that the student understands the effects and purpose of each technique, and can reliably address pain and dysfunction. We offer the most in-depth clinical training in the field in this regard.

We have a professional Thai massage clinic at our Evanston, IL premises, staffed by our faculty and Certified Thai Bodywork Practitioners (TBP). Sessions are available by appointment. We also offer low-cost apprentice sessions with students who are completing our practitioner certification programs.

Our workshop-based program allows students to study at their own pace to suit individual schedules and financial needs. We offer flexible payment arrangements, including payment as you go for individual workshops, time payment plans and work study.
