A beautiful Pinot Noir. Looking across from la Rinascente (il bar), and having lunch to go with the Peno Nero. 14% alcohol, cherry hue and quite full. I can now see the fuss about this grape http://www.vivino.com/users/thaboh/reviews/85025745

A beautiful dark hue and not to be outdone by the first Chianti Classico I tried. Medium body and soft tannins make this wine an easy flow when it hits your lips and flows towards the throat. Definitely taste the wood in this, which I rather enjoy. Not too much and no flavours over powering so well balanced I will have to say #winewithfriends #wine #Chianti http://www.vivino.com/users/thaboh/reviews/84370163

The consistent degree of lightness of Italian wines has me blown away. Such an easy and yet complex drink, I can't see anyone saying that on a hit summer's day in South Africa, this would be heavy. There are over 1,400 identified grape varieties and thousands of unique wine regions, and Italy is really showing off to me right now #winewithfriends #wine http://www.vivino.com/users/thaboh/reviews/84363967

Barbera is the grape of the working people I read somwhere. In essence, it's the poor cousin to Nebbiolo. Well, there is pride in being the working people's wine in Italy's wine regions, clearly. I enjoyed this... Fruity and soft tannins. Italian wine styles are so complex even for what I see as mid range. The aromas are just so present... #winewithfriends http://www.vivino.com/users/thaboh/reviews/84328347

I didn't realise frizzenta means sparkling. So definitely not what I expected when I poured this wine. Maybe my rating would have been different if I rated it as a sparkling wine http://www.vivino.com/users/thaboh/reviews/84328155

Very berry, but soft balance to the acidity. A smooth drink and hardly picked up on any tannins. I picked this bottle up at the Como Christmas Market today. The couple serving me could not speak English and my Italian is non-existent. Yet somehow we could communicate with regards to the different wines and whether it was full body or sharp or acidic or... The colour of wine and it's intensity are not what I had a correct expectation of, when I saw this Barolo (after pouring it). From seeing it, to sniffing and then sipping it. I loved the smooth and elegant finish, and it's a beautiful full bodied wine. Light and full body are not words I thought I would use in the same sentence (to talk about one wine) but there is a first time for everything, starting with me drinking this gem of a wine http://www.vivino.com/users/thaboh/reviews/83654793

Barrel fermented and further martured for two month or so in a steel tank before bottling. This 2016 vintage of the Jezebelle Chardonnay was bottled in January and allowed to settle in bottle for eight months prior to release. I am more of the traditional chardonnay guy, but I like this La Vierge wine. Aromatic, with hints of peach on the nose and... #winewithfriends http://www.vivino.com/users/thaboh/reviews/81163989
