The grey angelfish {Pomacanthus arcuatus} is probably the plainest coloured angelfish - no less beautiful for it in my opinion! http://ow.ly/WKqvZ

This tiny sharknose goby {Elacatinus evelynae} really stood out against the star coral, with its bright yellow "go faster" stripes. It took several attempts to get the composition I wanted, and someone on the boat afterwards said that they saw me near the beginning of the dive, and then near the end of the dive, still photographing the same thing. They couldn't believe my patience. As far as underwater photographers go, I think I am one of the less patient ones!!
Nikon D800, 105mm Macro lens. ISO 200, f/16, 1/100 sec. Twin Inon Z240 strobes.

A view over Cwm Cleisfer near Llangynidr in the Brecon Beacons. Taken in the snowy month of January, with a photogenic tree in the foreground surrounded by sheep. Black and White.

The moon through the trees. I love the way the craters stand out when the moon is in this state. #lunar #moon #astrophotography #trees #devon

A selection of photographs, above and underwater, from my 2010 visit to the Philippines. This included a very memorable visit to the World Land Trust funded project on Danjugan Island.

On a recent trip to Pembrokeshire with +Lara Nouri we saw a 60cm diameter barrel jellyfish [Rhizostoma octopus] which had stranded on the beach at Martin's Haven. The ferry to Skomer island, the Dale Princess can be seen in the background. Barrel jellyfish are normally pelagic (free-swimming in the deep ocean), but occasionally end up stranded on our shores. #jellyfish   #pembrokeshire   #Skomer   #Stranded
