a blog about my passions: travels, good food, good wine, fashion, books, etc.
Introduction
The Traveling Foodie began in May 2011 to catalog my travel experiences. I have always had a passion for travels and since I have always been asked for travel suggestions by friends I thought that through The Traveling Foodie I could do that, also for other people looking for suggestions on hotels, restaurants, books, wines or even quick recipes. This is also a space to write about my other interests and try to organize some of the thoughts in my head.

If you're looking for a nice place with superb food for a special occasion, this is your place! Authentic, fresh seafood cooked perfectly. Price is average for Milan, but quality and taste are worth it! Waiters should at least explain more about the menu but that shouldn't stop you from tasting it all, especially the starters (tuna tartare, oysters, octopus, shrimp salad, mussels, etc.) with the cover charge (about 3/4euro) you get limoncello at the end with some delicious almond sweets. Wine was not great, again, staff should give you better advise, but still worth it. A hidden gem in Milan's fake-fresh seafood restaurants. (booking is compulsory)

THE place to go for sushi in Milan. For couples or small groups, the space is reduced. (for bigger groups you can try the front door neighbors - Shiro - it's the same owner, same good sushi, a bit more expensive)

Great pizza in a central location. Pastas are not bad either. Book in advance, especially for lunch on working days, it gets crowded.

Nice seafood restaurant. Atmosphere and service are great, the variety of oysters is excellent and the food is good but not excellent. The oysters or the mussels are good starters, tuna as a main course also. Prices are not so high compared to other restaurants in the same range.

If you like raw fish, this is the place. Good for a quick lunch or an aperitif (you get a glass of prosecco with your plate). Not actually cheap, but the quality is great.

Love Luini! one of the few street-food places in Milan, their panzerotti are delicious. But be prepared to queue for a while!
