Despite runoff, fishing conditions around here are improving each day. Yellowstone National Park is the place to be fishing right now. The Firehole and Madison rivers are clear and fishing very well. Hatches of PMDs and caddis will keep fly fishers busy the next few weeks. Lakes also continue to fish well. Most of the action has been subsurface with leeches and baitfish patterns, but surface activity is also picking up. Here's a nice brown caught on a copper John dropper the other day...

Fishing is on here in Jackson. Many of our tributaries are clear and fishing well, with the Snake not far behind. The Green produced a few fish yesterday and will continue to get better and better as the fish key in on emerging Grey Drakes, PMDs and Yellow Sallies. New blog post with some recent fishing pictures:

Runoff's got area rivers high and muddy. The warm, dare I say hot weather has accelerated things and I'm thinking this means we'll be fishing the Snake and its tributaries sooner rather than later... In the meantime area lakes are fishing well.

Been getting out on the water quite a bit lately. Area rivers were fishing well, but it appears that the runoff's begun. Now it's time to dust off the sinking lines and fish the lakes; some are totally clear of ice and others like Jackson Lake are free along the shores. Regardless, the fish are hungry!
