12,000 miles, 24 days, no gas. A Model S road trip to all corners of the US.
When Norman Hajjar rides around the country, he rides around the country. The long distance driver has just finished an epic 24-day, 12,000-mile national tour, driving a stock Tesla S model electric automobile.

I wonder when companies like Shell or BP would need to start selling electricity as fuel.

I saw a Tesla driving down the road for the first time yesterday. Looking at it compared to the other cars... :D -It appears to be one fine piece of craftsmanship! I can't wait to drive one of these things!

"There isn’t a rational argument for why a new company should have to use dealers. It’s just dealers trying to protect their profits."

The New Yorker weighs in on the New Jersey ban.
Last month, New Jersey decreed that Tesla would have to shut down its showrooms. The problem: Tesla sold cars directly to the public, without going through independent dealers. Auto dealers around the country have been lobbying state governments to force the company to change its ways.

From my experience of major car dealers here in the UK, they are more interested in selling finance packages rather than the cars.

Walk in to the showroom and tell them you want a new car and are paying for it outright, they're not interested.

Walk in to the showroom and tell you want a new car but need to arrange finance on it and they can't do enough for you.

+Nicolas Lalaurette  I am so tired of this crap. STOP with the "It's not perfect so no one will buy it". If for whatever reason the electric options out there don't work for you the answer is simple. DON'T BUY OR LEASE ONE!

But these BS reason that people bring up are retarded. It wont go 700 miles on a charge. Even if it did you would complain that it took so long to charge. There are so many crap excuses you can come up with...I.e. it wont seat 7.

I drove 29 miles to work this morning and burned 0 gas. It cost me 55 cents.

By the end of the day my car will have 40 miles of all electric range and I will drive home the 29 miles and again burn 0 gas. I don't use gas.

"Sorry to hear you spent like $40k+? on a car that is still a hybrid (maybe not 100% of the time)."
1) Chevy Volt MSRP $34,185 minus the $7,500 makes the final Price $26,685 Just a little under$40,000
2)If GM had made a 100% electric it would have 80 miles of range and you would $h!t on it for that.(rightfully so)
3)When it has charge in the battery and its above 35 degrees its electric 100% of the time. Thus your "maybe not 100%" comment is disingenuous to say the least.
4)I lease, 17,500per year for $330 a month which a great price for any car, particularly one that gets 150mpg(or more).
5)Please buy a Leaf, but only 80 miles of range is a MAJOR issue.

I have driven 10,000 mile pure electric preventing nearly 2 tons of CO2 from going into the atmosphere.

Happy Earth Day

Accelerating the world's transition to electric mobility.
Introduction
Tesla’s goal is to accelerate the world’s transition to electric mobility with a full range of increasingly affordable electric cars. Palo Alto, California-based Tesla designs and manufactures EVs and EV powertrain components. Tesla has delivered more than 2,000 Roadsters, the world’s first electric sports car, to customers world-wide. Model S, the first premium sedan, built from the ground up as an electric vehicle, began deliveries in June 2012.
