“It took me seven years to complete my degree. Partially, it was due to being a requirement for work. However, as time went on, it became something that I felt driven to do and to complete. In the midst of obtaining my degree, I worked a couple of jobs. I also found out I had a brain tumor and had to have surgery. I had some issues following the surgery and could not complete my schoolwork for a year. Although it was still challenging, because when it's your brain, it’s still healing, but I did it and I'm here today. Obtaining my degree is a blessing I never thought I would receive. So today is a very very proud day for me.” - Carol Lee Mascola, BA ‘17

“I wanted to finally earn my degree for two reasons: the death of a college friend that was about to obtain her doctorate, and the death of my mom last year. Both of them always believed in me and wanted me to go further and meet my educational goals. This degree will propel me and enable me to transfer into the field of consultant for major companies.” - Tania M. Maranhao, BA ‘17

“Regardless of how impenetrable you think your cybersecurity defenses are, you’re only a mouse-click away from a disaster. How capable you are in responding to that disaster is as important as any other aspect of your cybersecurity program.” - Michael T. Geraghty, BA '09

“I am 51 and the first child of my parents to obtain an undergraduate degree. This is very meaningful to me and to four generations of my family. I wanted my children and my children's children to see that. The fact is, though, I've operated somewhat successfully within the corporate security operations and technology world for more than 30 years, and all this without a degree. Technically, my hands-on experience is longer than my degree. That said, it remained a goal of mine, and to know that academically, I've achieved what my experience shows and demonstrates. It's just been a plus, and I'm looking forward to the future to see what's out there for me.” - Dana Littlejohn, AS ‘17
