I guess Mr. Feschuk forgot the 2014 Olympic tournament already. The bigger ice surface in Sochi clearly demonstrated that even with elite talent, the bigger ice surface provides a less entertaining, lower scoring game. Even the IIHF's own analysis showed that Vancouver 2010 was higher scoring than Sochi 2014. Don't touch the ice and coaches should teach a more offensive approach to hockey.
While the NHL’s unlikely to ever move to international size ice surfaces, there is an appetite for some amendments to the current standard.
