Temple Terrace was named after the Temple Orange that was named in 1919 after W. C. Temple who first grew the fruit in Florida. The terrace portion of the name refers to the terrain of the area by the river where the city was founded.

Do you suffer from painful gum recession? Dr. Witt can help!

Dr. Witt is now certified to offer Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation to his patients. This new procedure is unlike traditional gum grafts – it's a scalpel-free and suture-free technique for correcting gum recession.

Through a small hole, Dr. Witt uses specially designed instruments to gently loosen gum tissue and glide it over the receded part of the tooth. Since there is no cutting or stitching, patients can expect minimal post-operative symptoms such as pain, swelling, and bleeding. Most patients are pleasantly surprised by the instant cosmetic improvement.

"Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation is a great procedure with fast results as it is a no-cut no-sew procedure. This new service will help our guests keep their gums and teeth healthy for life." – Dr. Brian Witt

If you have been told that you need gum grafts or would like more information, call us today at (813) 977-7000. We would be happy to set up a complimentary consultation with Dr. Witt.

Chewing sugarless gum is actually beneficial to your teeth because chewing helps to remove particles of food that are stuck to and in between your teeth.

If you suffer from dry mouth, chewing gum helps to increase saliva flow which protects your tooth enamel.

Remember to Floss Every Day!

When you don't floss your teeth every day, your teeth are vulnerable to decay and your gums prone to infection and eventually gum disease. Because your toothbrush is not able to get perfectly in between your teeth, flossing is the only way to remove food particles and plaque.

How do you start a routine so you remember to floss your teeth every day? Here are a few ideas:

• Start with flossing just one or two days per week and continue to add a day over time until you are up to a full week.
• Stash floss everywhere! Put some in your purse, car, your desk drawer, lunch bag, jacket pocket and, of course, right next to your toothpaste!
• Set a reminder on your smart phone at a hour that you would most likely have the time to dedicate to flossing.
• Put a post it note on your bathroom mirror. 😀

Flossing is going to help prevent tooth decay and will keep your gums healthy. So, make sure you brush and floss at home and come see us for your regular dental checkups. If it's been six months since we last saw you, call us at (813) 977-7000 to schedule your next appointment. See you soon!

Veneers can be a good choice when the original shape and color of your teeth is not ideal, or for fractured teeth and gaps. Some people have teeth that don’t respond well to whitening or bleaching, so in these situations, a porcelain veneer may be the best option.

They are also a faster solution to correcting imperfections in your teeth when you want an almost instant change in your smile and don't want to wait for braces to move and shift your teeth.

Would you like more information? Give us a call at (813) 977-7000. We'd love to help you have a new smile!
