Okay, so this is two pictures, however, it is necessary to tell the whole story. My grandparents' home
was the center of our lives. Almost every day after school we would go out to my grandparents' home for "coffee". Of course Sunday dinner was always spent at Grandma and Grandpa's house. There was always a big family get together for every single holiday, birthday, so on.

The top picture is of Grandma and Grandpa Grashoff in the living room of the home that Grandpa built out on the farm in Iowa. They are seen with all of their grandchildren, myself included. The picture below is of us all grown up with our own spouses and children. Grandpa had already passed away at this time. But we continued to get together with grandma. Christmas Eve was always a huge supper and then a soup and tavern "snack" before we went home around ten at night. I have so many wonderful memories of my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

+Teri Chaffin - I have listened to a number of podcasts. Especially when I worked and rode a train for 3 hours a day. I was introduced to +DearMYRTLE that way. +Lisa Louise Cooke and the +Genealogy Guys Podcast. +Marian Pierre-Louis now as 3 podcasts. Great Resources.

We're going to try this platform to see how it works.

Thank you,

Russ

I understand that Google Play Newsstand is a new Android app that replaces the Currents news reader. Might be worth looking into for Android devices. It's gotten a lot of positive press. News, magazines and online feeds all in one place.

Just somthing really neat to share here -- the physician I work for and her siblings had a "family" civil war diary. They decided to donate it to the Abraham Lincoln museum. What a neat piece of history for them to share with the world.

My grandmother typed her Uncle's diary. It is one year and finished by his brother when he died in a Civil War hospital. He was an apprentice doctor, and it is online here: http://iagenweb.org/marion/WrightDiary_1861.htm
The original is at Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa. I am going to try to find where he was buried next week in Quincy, IL!
