The baby boom generation is huge and covers people born between 1946 and 1964 which means the youngest baby boomers just turned 50 and the oldest will be 70 next year. When I see studies about where baby boomers want to live or when we want to retire I am always a little skeptical. As a younger

Fireworks from July 4th 2014 which was the last year the the city of Saint Paul had a public fireworks display. Lets hope we can have one again in 2016.
Last years fireworks were moved to the Minnesota state capitol building because of some flooding. They would have been launched over the Mississippi River. This year they will be at the CHS ball pa...

We lost several homes during the great recession. They were demolished. This home wasn't demolished but is moving to the empty lot that used to belong to a home that was demolished during the housing market crash. I had to do a lot of research because the property has been taken off the tax roles

houses are getting larger while households (the number of people living in the home) are getting smaller.
The great recession left plenty of scars in St. Paul. In some neighborhoods it also left vacant lots. Yes the lots are small and they had small houses on them that were razed at some point after the owners stopped paying the mortgage or the taxes. Often these lots end up being annexed by

I like to take a walk in the evening and I make time for it one way or another. I don't want to miss out on the two months of warm weather we get here in the north. I like to walk down by the river. Sometimes I bring my camera and sometimes I don't. Here are a couple of shots I took last week. I

There was this old house on Smith Avenue made of limestone that was apparently built to be a bar or a saloon as they were once called.  There is another limestone home close by that is just the summer kitchen of a much larger home that was never built due to a cholera epidemic. St. Paul has a rich

Story
Introduction
I live in St. Paul, Minnesota and I sell real estate, I write on a few blogs and I take pictures, lots of pictures. I guess I try to show people what St. Paul looks like through my eyes. I have a sense of humor, and sometimes it just kind of sneaks out onto the internet and gets me in trouble.
