I also have problems judging whether someone is from Australia or New Zealand.
The way Canadian English is pronounced is close to the US accent – but it’s still utterly unique and the product of singular forces, writes Thomas Rogers.

"There’s mounting evidence that bare heads aren’t a spectacular evolutionary accident after all. Bald men are seen as more intelligent, dominant and high status; their shiny scalps may help them to seduce women or even save lives."

I went bald in my mid-twenties and never looked back! Usually wear a hat, in summer to avoid sun-burn, in winter, to keep warm, also because hats are cool.

Story
Tagline
An Englishman living in Sweden with a passion for languages and Open Source software.
Introduction
My birth name is Terence Andrew Day. I was born in Birmingham and grew up in the West Midlands in a Black Country town called Oldbury. At 18 I left to study at Sheffield University, where I graduated in Germanic Studies. After graduation I moved to Denmark, got married, had children and became middle-aged. Lived in Denmark 30 years. I have recently relocated to Sweden.

I am a sci-fi and fantasy geek. I love watching old sci-fi and horror B-movies from the fifties and sixties. Trashy B-movies that are so bad, they are hilarious also find a place in my video collection.

My favourite sci-fi author is Peter F. Hamilton. His universe is as complex and satisfying as Tolkien's Middle Earth.

I switched to Linux about 8 years ago starting with Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon and regularly try out other distros. Currently running Kubuntu 16.04.

Music
I listen to anything from classical to heavy rock and metal to folk and medieval.

Digital photography
Just an amateur having fun (see my photos).

Computer gaming
I like to play fantasy RPG like Skyrim, The Witcher, Diablo & Starcraft. I don't spend so much time these days playing, there are so many other things to do!

Nature
I am a nature lover and admire all things bright and beautiful.

Cooking
I like to cook/bake and am always interested in trying out new recipes. Bake mostly sourdough bread.

Humour
British comedy mostly, we are world leaders in it after all! A sense of humour and not taking myself too seriously is what you will discover if you circle me.

Stayed for a total of 3 nights. Never again! The room was literally just a few meters from the railway tracks. There was a constant noise of trains stopping, whizzing by and track work that went on incessantly. Had to use ear plugs to sleep (I asked the receptionist who funny enough kept some in stock!). Very worn out and shabby hotel. My window was cracked and draughty, the tap in the bathroom just dribbled water, no pressure, hot water was about 10 minutes in coming, I could go on...

Tourist trap! The only way to get a good look at Gaudi's works in the park is by waiting at least 40 minutes and paying. Illegal vendors everywhere.

Have eaten there two times so far. Excellent food and good friendly service. Prices are also reasonable. You must try their meat pasties, aubergine with goat's cheese, duck ham, and not least a fantastic lemon sorbet! Very authentic and full of locals. Come around 19.00 before the rush! Menus are available in English too.

Excellent tapas and the best paella (you have to order this the day before, so remember to book!) I have had outside Spain. Nice atmosphere, good service and fair price all round. I can highly recommend this restaurant. I am definitely going again and bringing friends and family here.

Very good food and service! The owner is Danish! Small and cosy place that is also very popular with the locals. Authentic tapas bar where you feel welcome. I highly recommend it!

For those interested in Viking/Danish history, this place must be on your list! Apart from the actual ring fortress itself you can see a Viking village, a reconstructed iron age log house, and in the museum artefacts recovered during excavation of the fortress. The fortress is from the 10th century and presumably built during Harald Bluetooth's reign. Good museum shop and friendly staff.
