Another bread experiment. This time I put a few spoonfuls of Greek yoghurt in the dough. Left in the fridge overnight, then proving 3 hours at room temperature. There is a lovely sweet smell emanating from this loaf that I assume is on account of the yoghurt. Otherwise this is my usual yeast-based bread, 500 g white flour, 100g of a different type of flour (this time it was durum), water, salt.

I am also preparing my usual sourdough "skogslimpa" that takes a couple of days to make.

This is why studying history and languages is still relevant. A great example of how science and the liberal arts can come together and benefit society.
A 1,000-year-old treatment for eye infections could hold the key to killing antibiotic-resistant superbugs, scientists say.

Ja!

This really is a problem! I have a job where I rarely need to leave my computer at all during the day except for toilet breaks! Everything I do is done on the computer. Recently I have been suffering from neck pains and migraine. I exercise regularly in the gym, but after a day in the office I really feel exhausted. It has been too cold to just take a walk outside (I live in Denmark), but I certainly intend to take frequent breaks now that spring has finally arrived!
Office workers need to get up and move around more, according to a new campaign.

It is also a well known fact that for a city of 300,000 there is no red light area, it is because the local girls are so friendly :)

Story
Tagline
An Englishman living in Denmark with a passion for languages and Open Source software.
Introduction
My birth name is Terence Andrew Day. I was born in Birmingham and grew up in the West Midlands in a Black Country town called Oldbury. At 18 I left to study at Sheffield University, where I graduated in Germanic Studies. After graduation I moved to Denmark, got married, had children and became middle-aged. I currently work at the Danish Technological Institute as a technical writer.

I am a sci-fi and fantasy geek. I love watching old sci-fi and horror B-movies from the fifties and sixties. Trashy B-movies that are so bad, they are hilarious also find a place in my video collection.

My favourite sci-fi author is Peter F. Hamilton. His universe is as complex and satisfying as Tolkien's Middle Earth.

I switched to Linux about 8 years ago starting with Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon and regularly try out other distros. Currently running Ubuntu LTS and Linux Mint 15 KDE.

Music
I listen to anything from classical to heavy rock and metal to folk and medieval.

Digital photography
Just an amateur having fun (see my photos).

Computer gaming
I like to play fantasy RPG like Skyrim, Neverwinter, Diablo & Starcraft. I don't spend so much time these days playing, there are so many other things to do!

Nature
I am a nature lover and admire all things bright and beautiful.

Cooking
I like to cook/bake and am always interested in trying out new recipes.

Humour
British comedy mostly, we are world leaders in it after all! A sense of humour and not taking myself too seriously is what you will discover if you circle me.

Very good food and service! The owner is Danish! Small and cosy place that is also very popular with the locals. Authentic tapas bar where you feel welcome. I highly recommend it!

For those interested in Viking/Danish history, this place must be on your list! Apart from the actual ring fortress itself you can see a Viking village, a reconstructed iron age log house, and in the museum artefacts recovered during excavation of the fortress. The fortress is from the 10th century and presumably built during Harald Bluetooth's reign. Good museum shop and friendly staff.

Have eaten there two times so far. Excellent food and good friendly service. Prices are also reasonable. You must try their meat pasties, aubergine with goat's cheese, duck ham, and not least a fantastic lemon sorbet! Very authentic and full of locals. Come around 19.00 before the rush! Menus are available in English too.

Ignore the German review that is 3 years old. I ate there a couple of days ago (January 17, 2013). I ordered a lamb curry (one of the specialties of the house), samosas and a roti. Everything tasted excellent. I was promptly served and enjoyed very much the decor of the restaurant. I know my curries and frequently make Indian food at home (I am a Brit!), the food here was very good. Compared to Denmark the prices are very reasonable too. I can highly recommend House of India and will probably eat there again next time I visit Erlangen.

Bad to mediocre food and way overpriced! The actual restaurant is pleasant enough, but the food is a huge disappointment.
