Flash flood level: aquarium window

What a disruptive awakening, my window was "filled" and water pouring in at the edges. Had to climb in the window (from outside) and started scooping out water. We were even scooping water out of the grass to try and distribute it to less saturated areas.

This is what I'm talking about when I tell people even the mile high city is subject to flooding. Although this is the worst flood ever here (at this specific address at least), at least spanning 50 years.

#IfIHadGlass    I would use Glass for art: keep my reference images directly in front of me.
I'm usually getting around the city on foot. Good chance to let show Glass and take fun people-watching footage. The hands-free nature will make it easy to capture the regularly encountered beautiful scenery in Colorado.
Also, gaming.

This chart makes me grieve at our political system (more directly than other causes). I was like, "Yay, look at all these options" when I got my ballot. This happened to be my first stop (fortunately) and I see only Colorado has all options on the ballot... Still, it is best to vote honestly, not "settle on the lesser of two evils because other options are wasted".

Systems don't change by complying with faults. Though the inverse isn't necessarily change, just superior communication about what needs change.

On today's walk, I happened to pass by the memorial for the shooting, on a corner by Aurora Century 16. I decided I ought to take a few pictures because of the relevance and locality. It was a bit unfortunate that most things there have become a little muddy, but they're not going anywhere anytime soon. I don't think that field has any planned purpose, which is why it's been completely uncared for, but local wildlife likes these squares so it works out.

There was one candle way out in the middle of the sidewalk. At first I passed by it normally, but I regretted how "trashy" it looked in such a spot, relative to the intentions of those who placed it, so I had to turn around and pick it up, place it a bit more appropriately.

The 4th picture here is taken from Wikipedia, so you can have a panoramic comparison (uploaded by Algr under CC-BY-SA).

And the last photo is unrelated, but in the same segment. Prairie dogs being as cute as ever, so might as well snap that too. They're a common sight, but gotta share what I can of them anyway.

I just noticed Emotiv's EPOC neuroheadset, it looks pretty good for its price ($300). That's a little over twice what OCZ's Neural Impulse Actuator debuted at ($140), but it is definitely more than twice the functionality. Unfortunately OCZ put an end to NIA and passed off the tech to another company. NIA was specifically focused on gaming, but EPOC is aimed at everything. Note NeuroSky's MindWave and Necomimi are each $100 (at full launch price).

An early state of Avaunt Commune. Still a little disheartened no one expressed interest in helping out despite its goal relative to the whole of the community. Nevertheless it is proceeding as previously explained.

This happened to appear in my recommended videos. It was a bit painful for me to watch. Of course I have experience in this area, and she's not doing it right. Been doing similar since my childhood, and I learned by experimenting that it is a terrible idea to use a blender for these things. Ice cream has an amazing texture, and so do the Oreos, but blenders destroy that. These kind of things need to be mixed by hand (mixing cold stuff by hand can be hard, but the payoff is great).

There's been some interesting news recently, pertinent to global warming. Often I seem to think the debate of whether global warming is a real concern instead of a recurring event came to an end (concluding it is indeed relevant), with debating moving on to the degree to which humans are at fault. Thus I let myself be surprised everytime I see the debating go back to square one on whether it's a thing.

On the basis of mathematical flaws that can cause an easy and unfortunate bias ("hockey stick graph controversy"), Richard Muller (UC Berkeley physicist) heavily doubted the measurements presented around global warming. To quote the basis for that, " This improper normalization procedure tends to emphasize any data that do have the hockey stick shape, and to suppress all data that do not ". So he founded the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature and gathered other great scientists to get some high quality unbiased data.

Well, in starting out he expected to find that all the other bits of research were inaccurate due to some math trends, but instead BEST arrived at the opposite of that. Their data concluded that prior research was very accurate, global warming is as true as commonly portrayed, and they even went to the fullest distance of claiming that their data indicated that it is most likely to be truly human-caused.

Personally, I accepted the idea of global warming fine but never particularly accepted that humans had such an influential impact on the effect. But with this BEST going the route they did, I'll have to follow. I'm more open to the idea that it is very anthropogenic.

Good thing even without that data I've already been very environment friendly. Probably driven less than a combined total of 100 miles over the past year, hugely below American averages. And recycling and stuff is easy.

Of possible news sources, I suggest reading the NY Times article directly by Richard Muller. All points are made clearly and it's a good read.
The average land temperature on earth has risen 2.5 degrees Fahrenheit over the past 250 years — essentially all of it caused by human emission of greenhouses gases.

In this #TheaterShooting , clearly this guy wanted a high casualty count, and he chose well. Seems this is the largest mass shooting in US history. The Columbine massacre had a combined total of 34 people "shot", Virginia Tech with 55 people "shot", and this massacre had 71 people "shot". Also the bomb-rigged apartment is still a work in progress.

I sure hope the 59 injured are all going to survive. I know some have already been released from the hospital, at least one showing up on news.

Thank god he only chose to use a gun. Hell couple of gallons of amonia and pool acid would have killed more. or gas and furtalizer, or many other things

Introduction
An artist, and a gamer, is the priority description. I'll try embracing use of G+, but G.Wave is a greater priority to me. I've some well established plans, but I've long been stuck in the paradox of "you have to spend money to make money. Even Walmart isn't hiring, how do I start this?

I may be poor enough to be fond of consuming flour, but I do well to not pirate. Crunchyroll has relieved me of one half, and Steam has relieved me of the other half. New economic models must be embraced to push out the old. But we're still within the failing economic model, so pirating still conflicts with benefiting the whole of society.
