The top of Chilnualna Falls is an amazing spot to watch the sunset here in Yosemite and the trail head is only a 15min drive from Tenaya Lodge. The hike is a 8.5 mile roundtrip hike with 2,300ft of elavation gain, and should around 4-6 hours round trip. Be sure to bring water, snacks, a map, and if you hike later in the evening, a headlamp.

Looking for a good day hike in Yosemite that's not crowded and is a great sunset location? Check out Chilnualna Falls, it's an 8.4 mile hike!

This is the 2700 year old Bull Buck tree in Nelder Grove. At 247ft tall and with a volume of 29,090 CU. FT., it's the largest Giant Sequoia in the region and is only hour drive from Tenaya Lodge

Stopped by after a morning of snow play. Interior of the lodge was seasonally decorated, warm, and inviting. Unfortunately only one restaurant was open in addition to the quick deli. The wait time was over an hour, so we opted to order food to go. We had a baby with us and the staff was accommodating, letting us use a high chair in the hallway. Would like to come back again in the future to visit the other restaurants, or even be an overnight guest.

I didn't stay there. I drove by and saw snow so I went in and asked if I could park there so my family could play in the snow without driving forever into the park. They were very gracious and granted my request without question. While there, I noticed how beautiful and clean the place looked. Beautiful stone floors, giant wooden doors etc. Also I noticed that it was pretty friendly as I saw someone with their dog walking inside. This place looked sweet and I really wished I would have stayed there instead of the comfort inn.... :/

Allows dogs, but note that there is an added $100 fee. (This wasn't clear to us prior to arrival, possibly due to how our room was booked). Location was excellent. Lunch at the hotel was very nice with excellent service. There are 2 pools which would be nice for families. The bathroom doors could offer more privacy- the toilet and shower are just behind a sliding wood door and no fan so ...noises...

Hi Maria, thanks for reviewing us - for the benefit of other guests who may be traveling with their fur-babies, full details of our pet policy is on our website here: https://www.tenayalodge.com/lodging/pet-friendly-rooms. We're glad you enjoyed our amenities and appreciate the feedback about the sliding barn door --we're looking into options as to how we can seal that small gap.

They had a full menu at the bar. Cozy setting. Food was delicious. Bar service was good. They special made me a hot toddy even though it wasn't on the menu, which was nice.

The hotel is very nice and sumptuous. The main lobby is cozy and really sets the mood that is carried all the way into your room. The staff is very nice, informative, and helpful. There are a lot of amenities and activities planned throughout the day for guests to attend. There are also three restaurants That are priced low, medium, and high respectively, Plus there is also a small general store with premade food items for purchase. I highly recommend this hotel, and I know we will be staying here again.

Beautiful clean rooms, gift shop includes some convenience store necessities, two dining options plus room service, ample free parking. Decor elegantly reflects the legacy of Yosemite. Concierge and lots of family-friendly planned activities including winter skating. Main dining room is pricey.

On a recent trip to Yosemite we stayed atTenaya Lodge, which is just outside of the park itself. We chose a premium king room. Valet, front desk, restaurant, and shop personnel were all incredibly helpful and pleasant. We will be returning in the future and will likely stay in a private cottage next time. Overall an excellent complement to the picturesque area.

Great setting in the mountains! Always a good way to ring in the New Year. The lodge throws a great party with all of the amenities. Evenings around the fire pits are a great way to meet and interact with folks from all places and walks of life.
