Do the tanks and and other vehicles have to be veteran forces?

No. Think of the Hitler Jugend, They were inexperienced when they started but they were thrown into the fire and developed experience and then quickly progressed. You saw 15 and 16 year old veterans a common sight in the unit after a while.

Just picked up my first 4 TIE Bombers. Any suggestions on the best uses for them? I picked them up with a specific build in mind, but I'd love some feedback on your success stories with the TIE Bombers.

This past weekend I played a Firespray and 2 TIE Bomber squad.  The squad was built on an annoyance factor (the firespray had a rebel captive and proximity mine, and the bombers both had seismic charges).  It ended up 1-1 for the day (it lost to  a Wedge led x-wing squad)

Here is my latest tested Imperial build which did quite well: 

3 TIE Interceptors

Turr Phennir (25pts)
Determination (1pt)
Alpha Squadron Pilot X2 (18pts each)

3 TIE Fighters
Obsidian Squadron Pilot X2 (13pts each)
Academy Pilot (12pts)
Total Points: 100

I tested this group against a rebel group totaling 99pts. That group is as follows:

2 X-Wings
Biggs Darklighter (25pts)
R5 Astromech (1pt)
Rookie Pilot (21pts)
R2-D2 (4pts)
Draw Their Fire (1pt)
2 B-Wings
Blue Sqadron Pilot X2 (22pts)
Advanced Sensors X1 (3pts)
Total Points: 99

In the end, the Rebel force was annihilated and 4 TIEs remained with only one of those damaged. 1 Interceptor and all 3 TIE Fighters.

Hey guys! I need some help from you if you would be so kind. I'm working on a project for Star Trek Attack Wing and the X-Wing Miniatures game and would really love some of your feedback! 

Let me elaborate here. The base is the standard base and there are two lasers in it pointing out in the common fire-arc. This is to help determine wether or not an enemy ship is within your ships firing arc with much less bumping of ships around. There is a button positioned under the stem and slight pressure from the top of the ship will turn the lasers on. From this point, you should know right away if a ship is in your arc.

Hey guys, I'm working on a little something and would love some feedback! 

I should elaborate... This is a custom base for (currently the small ships) that when pressure is put on the ship, it will trigger two lasers, one at each fire arc. The purpose of this is to reduce questionable "in firing arc" questions. 

This is in prototype mode currently and I'm working out some bugs with a 3D printed version. Once I can get the innards worked out, I'll prototype again to see what works and what doesn't. 

The base size is the same as the current X-Wing bases for small ships, but it's just a bit taller. It's designed to hold two laser diodes, a button and batteries.

There are two holes drilled in the front of the base for the lasers to shoot through. In terms of the arc, this is done in the program that rendered the 3D model.

Just introduced my brother-in-law to X-Wing Miniatures. He didn't have much time so we played a 30 point game. Here is the match-up:

Me:
1 A-Wing - Tycho Celchu (26pts)
Equipped - Push The Limit (3pts)
Total - 29 pts

Bro-in-law:
1 Alpha Squadron Pilot Tie Interceptor (18pts)
1 Academy Pilot Tie Fighter (12pts)

My brother-in-law started the match off with some horrible maneuvering decisions. His first 3 rounds he was figuring out how to maneuver and put himself in my direct line of fire. 

I quickly dispatched the interceptor and went to work on the fighter next. The game lasted about 5 rounds total before both TIEs were dispatched. In the end, Tycho didn't take any damage and my brother-in-law started figuring out the game.

We started a second game which I think would have had a much different outcome. After two rounds I had lost a shield and he had taken no damage. Unfortunately he had to take off, but he may be back for some more! Fingers crossed.... 

On another note, this was my first time playing the A-Wing and I quite enjoyed my experience with it. Currently I've only got one of them and I am considering adding more to the ranks after tonight.

I feel the exact opposite. I own 4 Awings. When flying in pairs with mid line pilots they are quite formifiable. Add a missile each, you have a very flexible flight.

Even though most of the star wars movies take placed in near orbit to planets, I prefer my maps planet free.

AT-ST For Cats.

Seriously, I rarely post for #caturday  but this spoke to my inner Star Wars  child, and it is awesome. And the cat uses it! My lazy felines would have no concept ... laziest Fat Cats on the planet. And using an All Terrain Scout Transport? Ha, I'd love to see that one!
