An excellent place to catch a show, with a huge selection of acts, from underground local slates to huge touring acts. Cozy enough to feel intimate, big enough to not be claustrophobic. Beer's a decent price, staff is friendly.

My favorite bagel sandwich in the city. They ONLY do steamed bagel sandwiches (as far as I can tell), so if that's not your jam, head somewhere else. But man, they do steamed bagel sandwiches well. Extensive menu, including tons of veg and breakfast options, along with a decent complement of chips, baked goods, etc. Come for the food, stay for the topical sandwich recipes.

A nice neighborhood bar, perfect for grabbing a bite and a beer on the way home. Relaxed vibe and usually populated without being crowded. Good beer selection at a number of price points, and they'll usually have at least a few harder-to-find local brews on tap. Food is hit or miss, but the sandwiches and burgers are pretty good. Check the website for specials, they have good ones on both food and drink.

Pretty good food with emphasis on barbecue, $4 draught beer (and a pretty good selection at that). Plenty of seating, perfect for a night when everything else is busy. Great little neighborhood spot.
