"One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen, can change the world." These are the words of a teenager girl 'who stood up for education and was shot by the Taliban.' At age 17, Malala Yousafzai is the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate.

Techkriti, IIT Kanpur honor the undying spirit and inspiring efforts of this pakistani girl, an activist for rights to education and for women. She has taught us 'when the whole world is silent, even one voice can become powerful.'

Today is Malala's 18th birthday and she wants action. Post a photo of yourself holding up your favorite book and share why the education should be a necessity. We'll use them on Malala Day to show that the public wants global education to be a top priority.

"We have an infinite supply of information and yet we cannot read."

On this past Wednesday, PM Narendra Modi launched the Digital India Week in an attempt to bring digital revolution in India which could be far more significant than invention of writing or even of printing.

Techkriti, IIT Kanpur would like to appreciate this leap of efforts to empower every citizen with access to digital services, knowledge and information.
