Scout can wirelessly protect your groovy, wood-panelled bachelor pad. Would you want one? -

I am definitely going to order this, but I'm waiting until they're out of kickstarter mode and ramped up all the way.
Crap- would rather have a proper panel with hardwired zones- CO and Fire detection and local monitoring.

I have cellular, IP and Telco reporting on one panel- also - you only have to sign a contract if you go with some crappy company like "Always Done Twice"

If you live in an apartment or dorm guess this is good- for a house- its crap.

(I can access my unit from my cell- control z-wave and x10 devices and even send sms commands.)

I you want a good alarm just dont use ADT- find someone local who does proper alarm work and wont do contract installs, and require that they have a local in state call center- not some baboons picking up phones three states away.
A cheap security system for my wood paneled batchelor pad? I LOVE being a products target audience!
It's nice if you need a portable unit. I was going back and forth i the comments of this article on TechCrunch. They do have an Android version. But they never responded on how it works in terms of when you get in the door. It uses RFID I believe. WHen you come in do you wave your phone with an RFID tag on the door lock? There isn't any explanation.
