For the third year in a row, Microsoft Military Affairs is the presenting sponsor of the #OldGloryRelay. We are extremely thankful for and appreciative of their continued support. Last year, we had the opportunity to sit down and talk to Major General (Retired) Chris Cortez about how he transitioned from the military to his new position, the amazing opportunities Microsoft offers to veterans in the tech sector, and why Microsoft is such a great partner to Team RWB!

"It's impossible to overstate the positive influence Team RWB has had on my life. I'll spare you the story of the place I was in when I found Team RWB, but suffice it to say it terrifies me to think of what would have happened without this group. The friends I've made, the support I've received (most of you don't even realize how much you've done for me just by being there), not to mention the significant improvements to my physical health. I mean, who would have ever thought I could run a marathon? Three years ago I couldn't run to the mailbox. I owe so much to the people I've met here."

Remember that awesome WWII #veteran that our Northeast #Eagles helped through the Spartan Race course? Well - thanks to some of our #Eagles, we know more of his story!

Team members of Mended Swords, a non-profit run by Marine Corps veteran Michael Speed, along with Oscar Mike USA and Team RWB carried WWII veteran Ralph Osterhoudt over the Spartan Sprint course at West Point in August, 2017.

“I experienced a sense of community that I didn’t think existed anymore … a sense of humility and a sense that we could not accomplish what we did if people did not help us,” Speed said. “I cried four times during the race.”

Team RWB Jasper/Ferdinand Chapter held a 9/11 walk in honor of all the men and women who sacrificed their lives on 9/11/01. The walk was 11 miles. Great showing of #EagleFire with 64 participants including 8 fire fighters who made the entire 11 mile walk in their full turn out gear! Thanks for all you do!
