So excited about this new feature on my blog! Can't wait to do more of these. :)
[Translate] Stevie is one of those sisterfriends who makes you smile just by being in her presence. We met in college, where we bonded over a love of the written word and a passion for black culture. These days, Stevie spends her time moulding young minds as an educator in New Orleans, one of the […]

Here you go. And with this, the idea of requiring Facebook passwords for employment will disappear as quickly as it arose as a fad.

HA!!! I say "HA" only because of the irony (serendipity?) of this video's timing. Yesterday, my Internet-ing somehow led me to an article about the HP algorithm that failed to recognize a black guy's face but had no trouble following his white coworker. Mentioned in that same article was a camera (a Coolpix, maybe?) that kept asking an Asian woman's family if someone blinked. Again--algorithm. Makes me wonder where else these biases show up. So if I were to see a spiritual correlation, it wouldn't be a good one. Then again, maybe the divine timing of this episode means that Idea Channel is a benevolent spirit warning me to beware the almighty algorithm... :)

[Translate] Guten Tag, y’all! I know summer’s almost over, but I wholeheartedly believe that it’s never too late to pick up a good book! So here are some books that I recommend–two that I’ve finished, two that I’m in the process of reading. Salvage the Bones | Jesmyn Ward This is one that I’m currently […]

Hallooooooooooooooooooo! Now that I'm officially settled, I'll be tackling a few professional goals on my list, including becoming acquainted with the social media/new media scene in Europe. Initial thoughts: The Next Web is helping me play catch up. So is Bloglovin. And Germany is the Youtube police.
