People tend to assume that because I’m a #copywriter and a lover of language that I’ll naturally be a stickler for correct #grammar.

The truth is that I’m far more worried about core principles than I am about specific grammar rules.  Here’s why, and how ignoring what many people think of as “correct grammar” can sometimes actually make my #writing stronger…

Interesting!  I didn't know that - I have learned a thing today :-)

New on the blog!

I think it was +Danielle LaPorte  who introduced me to the “It’s either ‘Hell, YES!’ or ‘No!’” concept.

It’s a test that basically involves making a decision by checking to see if the idea gives you a full-body “YES!”  If so, you do it – if not, you wait for something that does.

Earlier this year, I realised I hadn’t had a full-body “YES!” response in my business in a very long time.  At the time, I figured that meant I was doing something wrong… but what if being an #introvert means I’m just not wired to respond that way?

Let me know your thoughts – and how you make decisions in your business – over at:  http://consciousintrovertsuccess.com/hell-yes-test/
How relevant is the “It’s either ‘Hell, YES!’ or ‘No!” test for introverts? Ever heard of the “It’s either ‘Hell, YES!’ or ‘No!’” test? I think it was the awesome Danielle LaPorte who first taught me the “It’s either ‘Hell, YES!’ or ‘No!’” test. If you haven’t heard of this wee decision-making...

Um.  If I waited for "Hell, Yes!" before I did anything, I'd never do anything worth while.  (I'm a natural doubter - it's when I make myself go out of my comfort zone that good things happen to me.)

Have I mentioned that in addition to the copywriting and introvert coaching work I do for business owners, I'm also now an Independent Scentsy Consultant?

For the Kiwis in my G+ circles: that means I've set up a "Super Sekrit Scentsy Samples Club" over on FB, and I'll be sending out free samples of DELECTABLE Scentsy products to members each month.

I've chosen the March scents based on existing club members' votes, but you can have your say in which ones I order for April.  Just go to http://bit.ly/ScentsyfromTanjaGroup and fill out the poll pinned at the top of the page!

(PS: know someone who loves wonderful scents, and would appreciate the chance to grab some free samples?  Feel free to pass this on to them!)

New on the blog!  If you’re a Conscious Introvert Musings subscriber, you’ll probably already know that I had an epiphany about one of the fundamental advantages of introversion last week.

In this post, I go into more depth about how the aforementioned epiphany happened, and the effects it’s going to have – not just on me, but on the whole Conscious Introvert core message:

Find out more at: http://consciousintrovertsuccess.com/introvert-hotline/
My latest epiphany: what if introversion was a hotline to your inner knowing? (Warning: there’s an F-bomb in this one. Read at your own discretion.) I’ve always preferred to focus on the strengths of introversion One of the earliest posts I published to this blog was about getting clear...

It's been a while since I posted anything copywriting-related here, but I've made a resolution to reconnect with that part of my business this year.

So I want to ask: if you have a new offering that you KNOW will change people's lives, and that's almost ready to go?  How are you going to tell your perfect people about it?

If you could use some help figuring out exactly what copywriting support you're going to need, this free, no-obligation 60-minute "Make Your Message Crystal Clear" discovery consult will help.

Find out what's involved at: http://bit.ly/crystalclearmessage

New on the blog!

I’ve written about my free online #community for #introverted businessfolk, Conscious Introvert Awesomeness (aka “The CIA”), before.

I haven’t, however, explained the guidelines for the community anywhere other than in the group itself, where I suspect they’re only visible once you’ve joined. (And let’s face it, even if you can read them from outside the group; that tiny, narrow strip on the right-hand side of the page doesn’t exactly make the unformattable text in it super-readable!)

So I’ve put together a much easier-to-read set of guidelines for you on my blog, along with a quick rundown of WHY each one’s in place.  If you’ve been wondering about joining, this might help you get clear on whether the group’s a good fit for you or not. And if you’re thinking of putting together your own group, feel free to snaffle any of my ideas that feel right to you.

Check out the #guidelines – and maybe give me your thoughts on them – at:  http://consciousintrovertsuccess.com/cia-guidelines/
What are the rules again? A quick overview of the Conscious Introvert Awesomeness guidelines I’ve talked about my free community for introverted business owners before… I first wrote about Conscious Introvert Awesomeness – or the CIA as I like to call it – just after I launched it back in June...

New on the blog!

A while back, when I was lamenting the lack of results I’ve had from putting expert advice into practice in my introvert business, the awesome +Kris Oster  asked if there was any real difference between telling someone what to write and what to wear

It was a great question that SERIOUSLY got me thinking… and my conclusions were that no, it isn’t always that different – but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing.

Here’s why (and where I really think the problem lies with copywriting advice)…

New on the blog!

A couple of weeks after my “Introversion as a hotline to your inner knowing” epiphany, I decided it was time to start exploring what, exactly I wanted Conscious Introvert Success to be about.

I wanted to identify my manifesto for the business… and managed to take the first few steps towards doing just that. Here are the four core principles that I’ve decided will lie at the heart of the Conscious Introvert Success manifesto, plus where I’m going with it from here:

Creating the Conscious Introvert Success manifesto: #1 – Core principles It’s been a while now since my “inner wisdom” epiphany A couple of weeks ago, I told you about the “introversion as a hotline to your inner wisdom” epiphany I’d had. And a few folks said they’d be interested...

I got the first of what I expect to be MANY emails about the upcoming  B-school launch in my inbox this morning.

In previous years, my response to the annual deluge has been something between "ducking and covering" and "trying to ignore it to the best of my ability".

This year, I've decided to use the emails that everyone is so kindly sending me to improve my own #marketing (and my #copywriting for my clients) by building up my swipe copy file.

Here's how I'm planning to do it...

New guest post!

This week, the lovely +Julia Barnickle  is hosting my thoughts on how to tell if your energy levels are flagging, and why it matters so much for your business.

I'm particularly focusing on the different faces that energy drain can wear (it's not always about feeling physically tired, although of course, that can feature too), and the effect that it can have on your business.

Check out the post at: http://thequietentrepreneur.com/9877/introverts-how-to-tell-when-your-energy-levels-are-flagging-and-why-it-matters/

Nearly 150 introverted business owners have taken the fun free "What's Your Energy Management Style?" quiz.

The 6 quick questions will either confirm what you already suspect... or they'll give you a fascinating surprise.

So what's your style?  Take the quiz to find out!

https://www.qzzr.com/quiz/introverted-entrepreneurs-what-s-your-energy-management-style/fi9xdWl6emVzLzMxNzMw
This is a short, fun quiz to help you identify your primary energy management style. It probably won't be your only one (you might use different styles in different situations), but it's likely to be your "go-to" option, all other things being equal. Click the option that MOST describes your choice or response in each situation, and see what your results are on the other side... | What's your result? Take the quiz now!

Something non-blog-related for me for once!

A thing many of my business friends around the globe don't realise about me is that I'm an avid walker.  Another thing they don't know is that I'm a passionate supporter of the work that +Oxfam New Zealand does to sustainably combat poverty and injustice long-term around the world.

That's why in March this year, I'm joining forces with three other equally intrepid (and perhaps equally crazy) friends to walk 100km and raise $2,500 for them.

I'd love your help in one (or hell, both) of two ways:

1/ Click on the link below to head through to my team's fundraising page, and donate a few dollars (seriously: no amount is too small!)

2/ Share this campaign with people in your G+ circles.  It's entirely possible that someone you know would love to support work like this, and has no idea it's happening.  You could be the person who lets them know!

Thanks so much for whatever you're able to do to support us!
