On a recent television show about healthy living on Russian national television, a doctor of medical science and psychiatry, Mark Sandomirsky, advised his patients to relieve stress using this easy technique. The source of stress often varies and people almost always experience it in different ways. Once the stress sets in, most people however, are …

Biggest fails in the Android and mobile world for 2014

According to a small sample of +Phandroid readers, the largest flop of 2014 was +Amazon.com's Fire Phone. The Fire Phone, while offering a few interesting, gimmicky bragging points just didn't take off with consumers despite Amazon's best efforts. For what the phone packed under the hood, it wasn't really worth the price tag. Amazon was forced to take a negative $170 million charge on costs related to the Fire Phone and the company reportedly had $83 million worth of unsold Fire Phones still in its inventory just a few months ago.

I was happy to see Amazon jump into the smartphone arena this past year, because competition is always good for the consumer and Amazon needed to do this for their customers and their target market. Will we see Amazon return with a "better" go at it in 2015? I'd like to think so.

Next up we have +OnePlus and their marketing campaign. This one is a bit tougher to tackle. Sure, we a lot of the companies marketing tactics were questionable, but they were also effective. OnePlus had a $300 marketing budget and relied on Android blogs, tech websites, and social media to spread the word for them. They weren't trying to compete with Samsung or Motorola in my opinion, they were trying to win over Android enthusiasts.

There is no doubt in my mind that the OnePlus one is one of the best phones you can get for the price. The battery life and camera are amazing. I do look forward to what this very young company has to offer in the coming year and I hope that they learned a little bit from some of their PR blunders.

And the third biggest fail according to our readers? The iPhone #Bendgate. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus bend in certain situations. There's no denying that fact. Even our "friends" over at +The Verge had this happen to at least two of their staffers.

This is a real problem that Apple needs to address in 2015 and hopefully isn't present in their next phone iteration. Remember, this was Apple's first attempt at a large phone. They'll probably get it right next time around as Apple is generally a great hardware company. As for their iOS software... that's another story.

Do you agree with these flops? What other big flops in mobile happened this year that you feel needs to be called out?
With less than two days left in the year, we are down to our penultimate category in our 2014 Readers’ Choice Awards. It is now time to announce the winner for the one category where last place would be a better finish than first. Ladies and gentlemen, your choice for the Biggest Fail of 2014.

Speech recognition as good as (or better) than human is rumored to have been invented at Google based on deep learning neural network technology.
Chatting with a digital assistant is about as much fun as trying to reason with a stubborn child. If you've ever found yourself yelling at your Xbox or swearing at Siri, you may have already lost hope.

One of the worst Bell dealerships in Toronto. The owner and his wife have no customer services manners. I 'll never recommend this place to anyone. I have even heard many people who have worked there quite their jobs because of the owner's behavior.
