Personal Financial Stewardship - Good stuff.
By Louis Barbarin. We love to use the word stewardship; it connotes a biblical vision for how we manage the resources of our organizations in a God-honoring way. As leaders in the religious world, much of our work depends on the generosity of donors and the careful management of legacy funds and ...

When we are true to his trust, transformed by his truth and unified by his love in the process of leadership succession, the gift of greater things awaits us.
~Dr. David McKenna
By Dr. David L. McKenna. A succession plan is not complete without considering the role of the incoming successor. As the governing board brings continuity to the process and the departing leader leaves the personal example of integrity in the transition, the incoming leader must pick up these ...

Simple and true.
By Wayne Pederson. I recently sold our home of 32 years. The garage and storage room was full of stuff we had set aside because we might “need it someday”. 30 years later, those indispensable filled the 8 yard dumpster I ordered. Interesting how the things we hang on to as indispensable become ...

The Role of the Board of Directors: Succession Planning
By Dr. David L. McKenna. The governing board of a Christian organization has the lead role in the drama of succession planning. On center stage at the beginning of transition, the board has primary responsibility for the continuity of mission through the formal authority entrusted to it.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. ~ Matthew 9:37-38. This was so very true when it was written and still so very true today. The workers available to bring the good ...

Truth.
By Wayne Pederson. We've all heard The Golden Rule, probably so many times that it loses its meaning. Basically, it's “treat other people the way you want them to treat you.” I just realized how important that truth is for leaders. Remember how the workplace felt before you were the boss.

The departing leader is not a bit player in the drama of succession planning for a Christian organization.

Quite to the contrary, unless he or she is a leader who assures the integrity of the office by being true to the trust and finishing the task, the process of succession breaks down at the most fundamental point.

With the steward leader model, I have found a surprising and rewarding system for managing the diverse resources under my care for God’s purposes. - Sara Marlin
By Sara Nagelvoort Marlin. Last year I joined a Christian ministry for the first time in my career, having spent more than twenty years in corporate marketing environments. Among my early observations was what seemed to be the “de rigueur” concept in Christian ministry: steward leadership.

Living to serve...
Introduction
Living to serve, following Jesus, & loving others in the unforced rhythms of grace.

I married to my beloved, Dale. We delight in our daughter Zoe, her husband Matt and our grandson, Eastyn. There is joy unspeakable that comes as we watch God's hand on their lives.

Dale and I share a crazy love the orphans in Jeremie, Haiti. Through our church, Long Hollow Baptist and in partnership with the Global Orphan Project and El Shaddai Ministries, we are compelled by love to go and serve the orphans there often. Today we find ourselves in the process of adopting one of them.

As president and CEO of The Christian Leadership Alliance, I serve an organization committed to equip and unite leaders to reach the world for Christ. We train them to think biblically and lead effectively as faithful stewards. Our vision is to see every Christian in leadership empowered for excellence to the glory of God.

I celebrate daily being born for such a time as this and embrace how technology enables God's people to be His light online. Want to learn more? Visit me at @stickyjesus. Discover what it means to #LiveSticky #All4Him.
