Hotel Goleta
5650 Calle Real, Goleta, CA 93117
Worst. Hotel. Ever. They advertise airport shuttle, and since my flight was delayed, I called to confirm shuttle was available... but when I arrived, no shuttle. I called the hotel and they just said they don't have a shuttle and that's it... Had to take a taxi.

Then the hotel was practically demolished ... after hunting through to find the room they were using for a front desk, found out the advertised bar and food did not exist either... hotel couldn't even offer advice to where I could get food.

Then had to pick my way through another darkened construction zone to find my room, which didn't even have glasses for a drink of water! No soap. Only one towel.

I have stayed in nicer places in the third world.

“Rather than risk a groundswell of public opposition that would be generated by accurately disclosing the combined subsidies for the arena and purchase of the Kings franchise, Mayor Johnson, Mr. Shirey and Mr. Dangberg determined that it was more politically expedient to simply misrepresent to the taxpayers the true value of the city’s subsidies,”

Proponents for a huge public subsidy for Sac Arena are pushing bill that the CA Judicial Council says will “undermines equal access to justice.”

“This means that other cases ... such as juvenile cases, criminal cases, and civil cases ... will take longer to decide.”

Prominent law professor says that group opposing public vote on arena would face "uphill battle" trying get courts to toss out signatures of "people petitioning their government."
