In this week's issue of TIME, writer Kate Pickert explores the parenting philosophy of Dr. Bill Sears, known to his followers as the "father" of attachment parenting. From extended breast-feeding to parenting's feminist roots, TIME takes a deep dive into how this movement has changed our culture and our children.

Love that you are in-your-face and extreme, but not a fan of the "Mom Enough?" message saying that those who don't extended bf aren't good enough. Hopefully the message in the articles themselves is a little different. I look forward to buying it and reading them.
In response to +Idun Lilith Wotansdóttir saying "disgusting" and +Sheila Davis saying "too damn old"... people like you are the reason that I'm glad this issue is coming out. Only a few countries (the US and Britain for example) have that mindset, where the rest of the WORLD will breastfeed a kid into toddlerhood. And I'm sure our ancestors all the way back to cavebabies did it too. But somewhere along the way, society has put a stigma on it as "gross" and that there's an age limit on it. But science has proven that kids will wean themselves naturally after they are 2 years old, but most mom's in these countries don't even make it that far and unnaturally wean their kids much earlier because they don't want to be viewed as "disgusting" or "perverted"
What seen to be the problem here? Is because Mom is too HOT? or because the kid is too OLD? for me the pic is normal......!!
this is why there is such a stigma against breastfeeding....mothers don't know any better and breastfeed their kids until the benefits are no longer effective...breast milk doesn't actually have any benefits past 2-2 1/2 years (age of child). I am all for breastfeeding, but there is NO point in breastfeeding a 3 year old, it does nothing for their development any more.
Wow.. so incorrectly educated. Immune system is a major benefit for one
yes i know...there are many benefits, but after 2-2 1/2 years the impact it makes is less, hence adults not drinking breast milk....
Well some cancer patients now drink breast milk for its benefits... why should a child with an immature immune system (which isn't fully developed until 7 yrs old) be any different?

And just because "the impact […] is less", why should it all of a sudden be stopped? It's better for the kid than all the processed crap out there otherwise! Kids will wean themselves when they're ready, why force it if no one's getting hurt
Studies have shown that attachment parenting (extended breastfeeding, co-sleeping, baby wearing, etc) actually results in VERY independent older children
+Paul Bailey she is not single. Don't you see the guy sucking on her breast? I bet he already reached puberty.
+Lucy Tyler hahahaha game of thrones is the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this eeeeeeeep!
