Introduction
Welcome to TIME on Google+.

We know it's our job to keep our readers informed, but we also think you should inform us. We want to use our Google+ presence to function as a continuous dialogue between editors and readers.  TIME has a history of setting the national agenda each week in print, and we'd like to invite you to be a part of that process as we set the national (and international) agenda each day online. We'll use this space to discuss breaking news and current events, using what we're learning from you to fuel the way we shape our story-telling.

Try to imagine no tv, no books, no newspapers, no internet, no education, and nothing but learning the kuran. The children are taught from the beginning about infidels and the west. They have a belief, and all the bombs and bullets in the world can't stop a belief. So Ann, I don't think we "almost won". The war started in the 6th century and will go on.

Salt, it seems, may have an ancient benefit.
Too much salt can lead to heart disease, but there may be a healthy side to salt that hasn’t been appreciated — until now

I think I'm done letting "experts" tell me what to eat and what not to eat. Apparently now I'm supposed to eat a high fat diet, low in "whole grains". Eat carbs, don't eat carbs, eat fat, red meat bad, red meat good, salt bad, salt good blah blah blah. Maybe North America just needs to eat LESS.

The creepy crawlies that may inhabit raw meat tend to be more harmful to humans than the microorganisms you’d find in raw fish.
Well, you could. But you’d be rolling the dice.

It’s not the first time Clinton’s e-mail has given her trouble.
The former Secretary of State is in hot water over her e-mail usage while in that office
