These words began to swirl around in my head and stayed there for days until I finally sat and began to write them down. I can not claim them as my own. They came Like a daydream that distracts you for awhile until something happens in your house to waken you and you just snap out of it. Only in this case the following story flowed from my obedient fingers every day
until it stopped and no more words came

The Story of Michael
A disease had begun in the world and it was travelling from country to country on the backs of rats. The rats boarded ships and the ships carried the rats everywhere and no country and no human was safe from this disease.
Scientists had been tracking the disease and fighting to contain it so it would not spread. But the rats continued to board ships and the disease was spreading and people were becoming sick , with fever and tumours. This disease knew no boundaries and was affecting everyone from the wealthiest to the poorest.
World wide the greatest minds gathered together in their finest medical facilities to search for a cure that would stop the people from becoming sick and dying.
At first people went about their daily lives not paying much attention to small reports on the news about this illness. Not until the disease began to show itself in the wealthiest of countries and cities and their hospitals began to fill.
Then the panic began....
Desperately leading doctors and scientists searched for a clue to a vaccine. Many people were dying many more were getting sick with the same symptoms.
Everyone in the world came together for the first time and agreed that without a vaccine to stop this rapidly growing plague ,no one was safe and people everywhere were going to eventually become infected and suffer and die. Eventually was happening and now.
Each religion began to pray.
Across all continents everyone and their families were asked to come forward and let their doctors take blood and spinal fluids in their effort to find an answer to the question,"what will stop this ?" and their fear brought everyone out in droves to be tested.Families from small villages in third world countries as well as elite families from the famous cities of Europe, U.S.A, And Britain. No continent had escaped as the disease randomly attacked and filled hospitals to capacity.
Schools and Churches and large arenas that used to entertain were turned into makeshift medical testing facilities where families came to be tested.
Blood Tests were done without much pain but children and adults alike screamed when their spines were subjected to the needles drawing precious spinal fluids. But everyone came and still more and more people were becoming sick. More and more people were dying...
All religions prayed harder and the scientists worked day and night. Statesman and political leaders spoke fearfully and quietly to each other. There was only one enemy now and only one war. The world feared only one evil and that evil was slowly and methodically, without prejudice killing like a slow and calculating machine while what was left of the world that was still healthy , sat by their radios, computers and television sets hoping for a hopeful word a gift of mercy ,a vaccination,a pill or any scientific breakthrough.
And then it came... A singular molecule was found within a spinal fluid in one test tube from one male donor and scientists tested and retested it against the disease and the sick people who received this injection were miraculously getting better and staying well. They used this specimen sparingly as they continued to wait for more specimens that could duplicate the same positive results. But none of the other specimens matched those same positive results. Specimen after specimen from millions and billions of people of all ages and walks of life were being tested more specifically now that they knew what they were looking for but to no avail. Now the hospitals worldwide could not house the numbers of the sick and people had to be turned away and were dying in their own homes.
The World Health Organization sought out the source of the only specimen that had proven to heal ,and narrowed it down to young male in a family in a small city in North America. The male was an unmarried Christian man in his thirties. He had a father and mother and a sister and a brother all still living, but they had been to many funerals and their home town had like so many others, suffered many losses.
The young man's name was Michael. He had been a Christian all his life and he and his family loved God. Although Michael was not considered handsome or muscular he had many friends. He was admired for being trustworthy, loyal,a diligent worker and he was happy and easygoing and fun to be around. His fellow employees at the local Home Depot where he worked all appreciated his work ethic. He was often first to arrive in the morning and last to leave after shift and he was quick to help out if someone was ill and a good listener when someone needed one. Michael and his family were very close and loved their family dinners and watching sports on tv together. There was lots of laughter and friendly debates and on weekends there was always a neighbourhood baseball game. But the baseball games had now ceased and there was the same cloud of gloom and fear over their town as was around the world.
Michael was in his Church basement overseeing friends playing board games and cards. It seemed like most of the town was gathering in their Churches seeking comfort in being together or sharing prayer for lost love ones or any new news about the vaccine everyone longed for.
Two police constables arrived at the church and were asking if anyone knew where to find Michael. Everyone stopped what they were doing as the P C's entered. Everyone was afraid that there had been another death, but instead the police just asked if Michael would come with them.
They told Michael the mayor had asked for him specifically. Michael's family were all at the Church so Michael knew nothing bad had happened to them. Curious as to why he had been sent for by the mayor himself, he asked his dad to join him and together they went with the officers.
The Mayor was pacing his living room floor when Michael and his dad were let in and there they found the mayor's wife and daughter were sitting holding hands , looking happy and excited to see Michael's arrival.
Getting right to the point the mayor explained that doctors had found that Michael's spinal tap fluid had this extraordinary molecule and it had been the key to a successful trial of a new vaccine which was successfully killing the organism behind the killer disease. A helicopter was waiting at the hospital to take Michael to a special lab where a team of doctors were waiting to take another test sample from Him in order to re create that same vaccine again and further test it on an even broader cross section of volunteer patients who were dying. Within the walls of that living room a glimmer of hope flickered . Michael and his dad called and briefly explained the scenario to his mom and told them this news must stay private and to pray , and then left for the helicopter.
Upon their arrival at the lab ,Michael was quickly and efficiently whisked away and prepped and led in on a gurney where several doctors in their caps and gowns huddled waiting. He was asked to roll onto his side and a needle was injected into his spine in order draw out fluid. A spinal tap is painful and Michael sucked in his breath with the shock. He had forgotten the extent of the pain from the time before and had had little time to remember or prepare. This time the pain was even more of a shock. They had asked for ten specimens and with each drawing the pain increased exponentially.
Afterwards It took several days for Michael to recover from the spinal tap and from the large amounts of blood the doctors had asked for for their next testing. He was happy to be going home and when he arrived his family surrounded him with comfort and took care of him. They could see that it had taken a lot out of Michael but his job was done and now the family prayed for another miracle healing using what they secretly had named " Michaels vaccine"
The medical team again carefully used their specimens to make as many vaccines as possible and with each new success it became more and more clear that this vaccine was winning the battle and at a rate of 100%.
Everyone on the team was amazed and in awe of witnessing their very own miracle. Quickly the vaccine was sent out to the many rich cities first and their hospitals and staff celebrated as their sick became well again. Country after country the results were the same. "Michaels vaccine" was the miracle cure for everyone who was lucky enough to receive it.
While the world celebrated ,people continued to line up to be tested with hopes to find more sources of this miracle antibody. Michael and his family celebrated quietly as each family member of his was allowed the honour of being vaccinated. But no one else new that this miracle cure had come from one source and one source only. Many millions were saved but many were not. Everyone vaccinated stayed healthy but the non vaccinated continued to get sick and die. Everyone needed and desperately wanted to be vaccinated and no one realized that at the highest levels of their governments decisions were being made as to who was going to receive the cure and live and who would not.
And then the last of the vaccine was gone and still no one else from all over the world produced this desperately needed antibody.
Michael s mom received the call that her son was needed again and this time the whole family decided to make the trip together.
Mom,dad
Michael s sister and brother and Michael were treated like royalty and were exhilarated with their helicopter ride and in awe of their lavish suites at their hotel. When the family was escorted back to the medical Centre they were led into a very large boardroom where the original medical team was sitting around a massive mahogany oval table along with some very distinguished men and women dressed in suits looking very somber.
As Michael looked around the table he noticed that these people looking at him reminded him of the gathering of the United Nations. Various countries seemed to have sent representatives.Name tags were worn beside lapel pins of small flags from various countries. He and his family felt overwhelmed and took their seats quietly and waited to find out why they were called to such an important event. For the amount of people in the room it seemed eerily quiet .No one was talking and Michael felt uneasy as he noticed every eye was on him.
Someone started by standing up and introducing quickly ,everyone at the table and they were indeed very influential people from around the world.
One of the doctors , Michael recognized as Dr Abraham stood up and proceeded to summarize the history of the killer disease and how it had spread. He spoke about their journey to find the cure and the success rate that finally they had found when using this new vaccine. But everyone at that table was still watching Michael as the doctor ended his summary with the following bleak facts: There was no more vaccine and not one other specimen had contained the mystery antibody needed to make more. Only Michael had the anti body. Only Michael s blood and spinal fluids had been successful and remained successful. Only Michael could save the world.
The room was silent as Michael and his family processed this news. No one else at the table seemed surprised. They had already been told. They were here, knowing the truth and waiting to see what Michael was going to do. Michael realized he was expected to answer some unasked question. He smiled nervously at his dad and mom. Mom looked sad but hopeful and smiled back. She remembered how much of a toll the last test had taken out of Michael and she silently sent up a prayer that this time it wouldn't be as bad. She knew her son and he d do it again regardless of the pain.
But Michael s dad had a different look. He had a deeper understanding of what was at stake here and his eyes held his son's fast with pride. There was an unspoken message between them.
Michael looked around at the expectant faces. The faces around the room looked tired and strained and there was fear in the many eyes glued to him.
Michael rose to his feet and looked directly at the doctors " Anything and everything you need I ll give to you, of course I want to help". and he sat down expecting clapping and smiles and relief from everyone. But the silence continued as the faces hauntingly stared back. Michael looked at his dad sitting beside him for some kind of hint as to why the response was so confusing. His mom and his siblings also seemed baffled. His dad took his hand and squeezed it and a tear fell from his eye as another doctor awkwardly stood up and moved towards a large computer screen. He was preparing some kind of a slideshow or powerpoint and Michael sat back to watch and listen. The doctor began to discuss the next stage of the plan for " Michaels vaccine"Now that Michael had agreed help, it was time to bang out the numbers and statistics and explain clearly what was needed to proceed. This Dr Thomas and his team had narrowed down a few different scenarios. Written on a large white board were several lists. Back and forth he would point with his marker from the computer monitor to these lists. He briskly described How many vaccines would be needed and to whom the vaccine would be given.
Prisoners around the world and handicapped and homeless people were put at the bottom of a list. Unwed mothers, orphans, homosexual persons and people sixty and over were another list. Rich and famous and athletes and artists and musicians were high on a list along with high ranking statesman and governors and presidents. The room breathed a little seeing this list. But Michael was confused and looked to his dad for clues to what strange lists indicated. Dr Thomas looked around the room and continued reciting his numbers and pointing from list to list. The poor were added to the bottom of a list. Some of the people at the table were looking at the floor and some had tears in their eyes. The doctor looked over at Michael and said matter of factly , "you are a Christian aren't you Michael?, and Michael looked around perplexed and said "yes I am"
With this the doctor erased something from top of one list and replaced it with " healthy Christians" ...The silence broke and people began to argue and yell back and forth .Pandemonium filled the room.
The doctor waited. He was sweating and his hands were shaking. The noise died suddenly as Michael stood up and asked " Why do you ask if I am Christian and what do these lists mean?". Dr Thomas coughed ,took a sip of his water bottle, nervously and without looking at Michael he pointed to his whiteboard and spoke hurriedly . People are being separated into categories." Dr Thomas slowly began to explain ." The categories at the tops of the lists will receive vaccinations and the those at the bottom of the lists most likely won't get vaccinated. I wanted to assure you that as you are Christian we have decided all healthy Christian will get vaccinated and non Christians will fit somewhere else within these lists. It's all up to you Michael where people , er I mean categories will be designated to on these lists. I am only showing you our best case scenarios for you to agree or not to agree. It s your body and your fluids that will save lives so you have the power to decide who lives and who
dies.!" and with that doctor Thomas stood waiting with his markers, staring at the front of his white board ,leaving Michael ,who sat down hard in a daze speechless. Then Michael lowered his head into his hands as the reality became clear and he wept. His whole family and everyone on the room wept together.
Before Michael could recover from the full brunt of everything the doctor had spelled out to him ,fear again swept over the room like a wave .The ambassadors around the table began to murmur all at once like a swarm of angry bees . The murmur grew to shouting and pleading for Michael to have mercy on their nations. Quickly Uniformed guards appeared out of nowhere and began ushering the angry desperate ambassadors out of the room. The representatives were angry and fearful as they realized they were not going to be allowed to petition Michael for favour. Some spit at Michael and some cursed and someone struck at him as they were strong armed out of the boardroom, leaving only Dr Thomas,Dr Abraham the medical team Michael and his family left at the huge empty table. Michael and his family sat dumbfounded in the aftermath. The vast room was still and eerily quiet again . Dr Thomas stepped back to his white board. He was more composed now that he had a smaller audience and he began in his matter of fact tone to re assess the current lists. Busily he erased names of groups and placed them higher or lower as if he now had new information.
Michael looked at him in shock and wondered bitterly where the doctor had his family placed on the list, that he could take his job so matter of factly knowing how much was at stake. He glanced again at his parents. His mom had her head down and was praying. His sister and brother were still in shock. But his dad had a calm demeanour and a knowing look on his face mixed with some sadness. Michael sensed his dad had a much deeper understanding and knew more or saw more of what was to come and that he was waiting for Michael to see it too. Michael adored his whole family but he and his dad had a bond so deep they could sometimes feel each others thoughts. Michael admired his father for the patient and loving kindness he showed to his kids ,his wife and even to total strangers. His dad helped anyone without hesitating and held no grudges when people let him down. Michael often thought that when he was lucky enough to find someone to be his wife ,his soul mate and have children some day, that he might be as good a father as his dad was.
And then Michael felt it. It being that thought or that gut instinct that touches your mind and your heart at the same time. He tapped on the boardroom table top to get the attention of the doctor ,who had his back to him ,still busily erasing and making changes to his many lists. When the doctor turned around Michael asked " Why does there have to be any lists at all? Why cant We just help everyone?" His dad squeezed his hand but when Michael went to wink at him his dad ,there were tears running silently down his face and the same knowing look that told Michael his dad knew way more than Michael had yet to learn.
Dr Thomas paused. He seemed very uncomfortable with the question and took his time answering. For the first time a mixture of sadness and compassion passed over his face.
Michael's mom and siblings looked up hopefully, but his dad s face had not changed. The doctor s shoulders slumped. He looked tired and defeated and he sat down across the table from Michael and his family looking as if he was genuinely seeing them for the first time. The business side, the numbers and lists and his professional mask melted away. He sighed and hesitantly said " Michael listen to me carefully. We knew when we couldn't find any other donors that could match your same specimen ,and we have tried everything, we really have. We knew then, not everyone could be saved. There wouldn't be enough vaccination to go around to save everyone and keep you alive at the same time. Do you understand? To try to save everyone and risk your life was not our plan.We never entertained that thought.!" With that the doctor began to rub his temples and closed his eyes and they sat at the table in silence.
The horrible truth was someone had to die. Michael's mom gasped. Michael sat like a stone as this new information slowly swirled in his brain. He felt as if he was far away in a fog and through the fog he heard quiet voices as the doctor had gone back to talking his clinical jargon and explaining to someone about the importance of the lists. Within the fog he heard the doctor as he was saying" But don't worry Michael you can still save millions of people. Just not everyone. We will help you with your lists. We know you are Christian and we know Christians have strong rules. That helps us with our lists you see? We can easily eliminate everyone " pro choice" and everyone in prison and we know many Christians don't speak favourably of homosexuals. I myself am not a religious man but you get to call the shots Michael . We can even move non Christians lower on the lists and of course known terrorists and people who do drugs. Oh yes and prostitutes. With social media we have access now to everyones private information. We can remove pedophiles and alcoholics and just about anyone a good young Christian man like yourself , I assume, wouldn't associate with. So you see Michael in a way you get to cleanse the whole world and start fresh with your Christianity and all of your Christian groups around the world . Christians everywhere will be in a much more powerful position. If it had been someone of another religion who had this power then he or she quite likely would have put all Christians at the bottom of the list. So ,maybe there's something more to your God after all. !"..... That got Michaels attention and he snapped out of the fog...
The doctor continued unaware of Michael's reaction. His job was to get Michael to create the lists and sign an agreement and then the good doctor could ready his team and begin to make enough vaccine to save everyone who made the final list. It was not going to be a lottery. Unknown to Michael and his family, the elite group who paid the doctors already had their list ready and once they had Michael's list , things would proceed swiftly. Michael's voice sounded small in that large empty board room,as he weakly asked the doctor, " Would everyone be saved, If I give you my whole body, all my spinal fluids and all my blood, anything you need, is it enough to save everyone?". The doctor stared back at him looking annoyed and spoke to Michael like a child. " As I already explained to you, that is not necessary. You don't have to die to save murderers, racists, terrorists, and the like, I mean seriously Michael why would you?"
But Michael looked the doctor in the eyes and stubbornly asked again.
" Doctor.. look through your numbers and charts and just tell me if I can save everyone, no matter who they are or what they have done.! Can everyone be saved, if I give you all of me. ?"
The doctor looked at the determination in Michael's eyes and gave him one last thing to think about." Michael you need to fully understand what you are facing. The procedure as you know will be extremely painful and will take painstaking precision. You would suffer for hours while we extracted everything we need and then you would die. But think Michael of the many millions of people you can save without dying and you would recover and be a world wide hero. Your life and the lives of your family would be changed for the better. The surviving world would owe you their lives. You would be famous and financially compensated and set for life. Better a live hero then a dead one Michael. And let's be rational
after all ,this crazy messed up world would be a much better place to live without the other categories we have discussed. We will take anyone you don't like right off the list. People who have hurt you or your family. Even some of those today who spit at you or the ones who tried to hit you. This is tremendous power Michael use it wisely.....and your family wouldn't have to lose their son and brother. Think of it as a fresh start.!"
No one from Michael's family said a word. They were speechless. His mom was crying silently and praying and his siblings sat rigid and stone faced .
The doctor searched Michael's face some glimmer of change and to see if he had finally got through to Michael so they could move on.
And a change did happen to Michael.
He saw the future very clearly and Michael felt comforted by warmth and peace. That same peace and warmth he used to feel when sitting on his dock on a cool afternoon and the clouds would melt away from hiding the sun and the sudden heat would start at the top of his head and then bring it's all encompassing warmth surrounding him from top to bottom.
". Ok Michael fine have it your way. " the doctor sighed "The answer actually is yes. We did crunch our numbers ,many many times and we know exactly what we need to move fwd with the vaccination process. It is based on all the data collected from the other two test vaccinations. So yes you can save every person and every degenerate in the world from Charles Manson to Hitler if he was still alive."
"You can save every villager and everyone who hates Christians if thats what you really want. But Michael we cannot save you too. You literally have to give your whole self and die for all these people who dont know you or probably hate your Christian type. Very few will thank you. I mean it will be historical and will be written down for our records in medical journals but I doubt many will care who saved their lives after you die. Its never going to be in big news. Your name will maybe be spread by a few and thats it. So think really hard about it and lets just move on can't we?" Exasperation was written all over the doctor s face.
No one had really prepared Dr Thomas for what came next. He was a good man and not cold hearted but he was logical and he and his associates had indeed looked at every scenario. But they had dismissed the last scenario when it meant the certain suffering and death of Michael. To them it was not rational for Michael to sacrifice himself when in their professional opinion there were many undesirables who could be considered necessary casualties of this war.
"No!" Michael shouted " It has to be everyone! No exceptions! No exclusions! Absolutely everyone must be saved . I will give my life and accept what's to come but everyone must and will be treated equal and have their chance to choose how they will live their lives. My choice is to save everyone and I will sign your document saying so.! But those are my only terms. With that both his mom and sister began to rock back and forth weeping uncontrollably. His father hugged him and wouldn't let go and his brother left the room. The doctor looked horrified and waited expecting someone in the room to change Michaels mind , to argue ,to do something ,anything......and when no one even tried he wearily shook his head , slowly gathered all his documents, his markers and erasers. He turned towards his white board and began to erase the lists,.... After he had completely erased all the writing on the board he stared at it awhile. It looked back at him with it s white clean surface and then he took up the rest of his things and walked briskly across the shiny hardwood floor and out the big double doors.
Someone delivered. the final waiver to the hotel later in the evening. Michael read it out loud to his family and signed it, and a courier hastened the signed final document back to the powers that be. Everything was written according to Michael's wishes. The document was legal and binding..
Only his brother tried to talk him out of it. His brother was a Christian and did lots of good works for the Church but also he was intolerant. He thought it made more sense to remove killers off the list. After all Thou shalt not kill right? And in his mind it followed Pro Choice people should be off the list and homosexuals and pedophiles and sex offenders.
Definitely terrorists should come off the list. Look at what's happening in our world. These factions want to kill us. What about Drug Cartels. Wouldnt it be a good thing to remove drugs, prostitution and how about all the new perversions; bondage and child slavery. What about ridding the planet of aids victims.? But Michael reminded his brother that the God of Abraham gave every single person on His earth "FREE WILL" and that Jesus welcomed openly everyone , including homosexuals, adulterers, thieves ,prostitutes, murderers, Tax collectors, lepers and he especially said to protect widows and orphans.,the.very poor, and he loved them and surrounded Himself with them. The Pharisees on the other hand looked down their noses at All these individuals. The Pharisees were the "List Makers" The categorizers.. Never God and never Jesus. They loved and gave grace and mercy.
Michael was hoping his brother would see that saying you are Christian is lip service if you dont love everyone like Jesus loved. And Jesus loved the persons on those lists And on all lists .There were no exceptions......
After Michael had signed the document and it was couriered off ,the family came together in their hotel room and sat holding each other.
They spent the rest of the evening talking about anything and everything else other than what would happen in a few days.
As the night before the operation approached ,the family had dinner and prayed together. Afterwards Michael's mother, sister and brother clung to him for a long long time until finally brother and father had to separate the weeping women from Michael. Michael s brother took his mother and sister home.
They had previously agreed that Michael needed to be alone with his dad from this point on.
The hotel room seemed so empty as dad and son sat side by side in silence. Up until the moment Michael s mom and siblings left he had been resolved and and at peace with is decision. But when his sister and then his mother fell apart sobbing and clinging to him, something in Michael broke and for the first time he realized how much pain they were suffering and how hard they had tried to hide their grief. He had been so focussed on himself and what he felt needed to be done that he had not thought about them and their pain and what happens to them afterwards. The look on their stricken faces pierced his soul. The arguments his brother had made siding with the doctor and his lists began to cause some doubts. He began to feel guilty as his emotions battled within him.
Michael slid off the hotel bed onto his knees onto the hotel room floor. He clutched his face in his hands and lowered his forehead to the floor as he cried out in agony for his family. He thought of his friends and his coworkers that he would miss. Would they understand his choice or be confused and angry when they heard. He thought about never getting married and never having kids, something he had always wanted. He was depriving both his parents of grandchildren and he wouldn't be there when his sister married in the Fall. She never even reminded him or complained. How many people would be devastated by his death. The whole time Michaels thoughts warred against him he felt his dad's 'presence beside him. Oh how he would miss his father. His dad was his rock and he was down now kneeling beside Michael. His dad reached down and lifted his grown son's head gently and lay it on his lap while he cried. They cried together like that until the first light of dawn began to trickle through the big picture windows.
The phone rang reminding them a car was coming soon for them and they prepared themselves quickly and headed down to the lobby.
Soon they were at the medical Centre and Michael was again surrounded by nurses fussing and taking his blood pressure and hooking him up to a variety of machines which had wheels so they could move into the operating room easily with him. He was reunited with his dad in another room where he was waiting for a quick briefing with Doctor Thomas before the procedure. He had been told it would be a long procedure. His dad held his hand. Michael looked up at him and saw his face was bathed in tears but behind those tears the eyes glowed with such pride that it radiated the whole room and his dad 's peace and happiness washed comfort over Michael like a warm blanket of love. Any doubts Michael had struggled with before were gone. He could die happily with that image of his father s strong face beaming with pride and tears, and Michael knew his family would be fine. His dad would take care of everyone as he always had.
The ever professional Dr Thomas stepped in and smiled at Michael then asked for the nurses to leave the room so the three could have a final chat. He proceeded to tell Michael s dad that they had set up a glass viewing spot for him in a room above that medical students often used. It was a viewing gallery where he could see Michael during the procedure for as long as he wanted to. Only he would be there so he d have privacy. The doctor had his briefcase and after a quick summary of what was to follow given in his usual clinical manner he opened the brief case and pulled out some more forms. Michael and his dad were puzzled. The doctor said. " Michael nothing is written in stone you know and therefore we have kept these other two scenarios handy just in case you and your dad could be convinced to save your life. We had the best mathematicians crunch these numbers to the bare bones and we feel we can save your life still with this very minimum of casualties. The original agreement and all Michael had to do was revoke his first agreement and sign this new one and he wouldn't have to die. He d be there for his sister s wedding. He imagined their happy and relieved faces when they came to retrieve him from the hospital and take him home.
Michael looked at this new and final list that the doctors had carefully sculpted and came up with. He was touched by their desire to save his life until he began to read the categories of people who were considered expendable........
1. All Pro Choice Supporters and doctors who perform abortions
2. All Pedophiles and sexual deviants
3. All in prisons for murder and rape
4. All known Terrorists and drug cartels know for killing
5. All practicing homosexuals
6. All persons dying with aids
7.People currently on life support
Michael could see how they had carefully manipulated their list to focus on some of the most controversial issues of the times. He could see how they felt this would seem rational to many people. Michael was dismayed that according to the specialists who were obviously hired to create these lists they gathered their data based on feed back from Christian Churches around the world and very possibly received input from some very prominent Christian leaders.
Michael motioned to the doctor to come closer and whispered. "Are any of your family on the list? The doctor stepped back outraged. " Certainly not. My family doesn't fit into these categories.!"
"Well doc" said Michael "Have you ever withheld taxes or told a lie or cheated on a test?" Ever drove drunk.? Any chance you have slept with a beautiful girl that you weren't married to?" and the doctor sputtered red faced and said To Michael. " If your point is that we all make mistakes then yes I have made several, but you can' t possibly consider them equal to the types of degenerates we have narrowed our list to! It is not the same!
"Those mistake you made are still called sin.!" It's one big umbrella category. And sin doesn't have a ranking system. In a nutshell doc everyone on your so called degenerate list is no worse than you or I. Thats what Jesus taught that no one was without sin and I know for sure Jesus never wrote a list and neither will I" and with that Michael tore the papers and dropped them on the ground.
He looked up at his father and his tears were gone replaced only with radiant pride.
Father and son had just seconds to say goodbye as the disgruntled doctor hurriedly left to scrub up. The nurses came for Michael and an orderly showed the father to his private viewing gallery. Even though Michael couldn't see or hear his dad he knew exactly where he was and could feel his presence. From where his dad sat up higher in the viewing area he could see everything and hear the medical team through a speaker at the corner of his room.
The most difficult aspect of this long procedure was going to be the pain. Anaesthetic could not be used at any time during the procedure. Keeping Michael alive until they had all the blood and spinal fluids they d need was crucial to the full success of this process. But keeping Michael alive and awake through such a painful process and for the several hours needed would be like ongoing torture.
Off to the side of the room were several carts on wheels with glass containers with lid tops and inside these containers held rows and rows of small glass specimen bottles waiting to be filled.
Michael had iv s in both arms. Someone to monitor his heartbeat and his blood pressure. They needed to synchronize every aspect of the procedure. Several machines whirred and bleeped out numbers.
Michael's ad looked down at his son hooked to all these monitors and thought he looked so small. He felt very glad he was alone in the room and especially relieved to find there was a small chapel just across the hall. His pride in his son and his son s decision filled his heart he could barely contain it.
His fear of the next gruelling hours weighed him down like a vice clamping onto his chest. Usually families wait in these rooms with hope of hearing Your son is going to make it. He 's going to be fine. But today it was not to be.
But Michael wasn't going to live. He was going to suffer and he would die. He chose to , even with so many alternatives where he could live. The father and son were agreed as one in this decision. The hardest decision that any parent could ever make. And just as Michael was going to suffer today his father chose to suffer with him, right until the very end.
It would have been easier, the father thought if it could have been his own life to give. But to sacrifice your son whom you love more than life itself was a pain that cuts your breath from your body and causes an ache in your heart that never fully heals.
As his son moaned for the first time the father watched and he ached. The moans were deep and the father rocked and prayed not taking his eyes off of Michael. Part of him wanted to put his hands over his face but he had promised himself he would not abandon his son. The greatness of the pain was evident as Michael's eyes glazed and tears flowed freely. The nurses standing by were crying. They were helpless to help with the pain.
The doctor's brow was sweating and he was working slowly ,methodically and efficiently trying to collect the needed specimens as well as not prolong the agony. With Each insertion of another needle to draw spinal fluid Michael's moans grew louder and lasted longer. By now there were quite a few rows of specimens. Michael s dad held his breath with his son's every moan. Finally he needed to jump up and start pacing his adrenaline pumping with the groans of his son. He started to pray for his son to die and not be subjected to much more of this medical torture. Even the doctor stopped for a minute lowered his face down close to Michael and whispered something in his ear. Michael lay quiet and still for several minutes and then groaned out to the small team the words "NO Please !God help me..keep going "
Michael s dad grabbed the door and yanked it open and ran into the Chapel. He didn't look to see if he was alone and he fell to his knees and let out a strangled cry and fell prostrate. He sobbed and banged his fists on the floor and he lay crying and raging until exhaustion took over.
Michael looking through the haze thought he saw his dad leave and the viewing room was empty. Wasn't he the one suffering all the pain ? Must his dad abandon him too? It was unthinkable and something in his heart and mind shattered. The shock to his body and mind helped him slip in and out of consciousness. The doctors were preparing the last box of bottles. Now was the race to keep Michael alive long enough to complete all the specimens as he had wished. The doctor wanted to fulfil
Michael's dream for Michael's sake. For Michael and his brave family.
They were losing Michael. When his dad disappeared Micael stopped fighting. There were so many puncture marks everywhere.
Someone ran to find Michaels dad. They found him on the floor of the Chapel. He immediately jumped up and ran with them back to the viewing room. The doctor tried to help Michael lookup to see his dad and he then managed a flickered smile of relief. He wasn't alone. He would go the distance. But the pain was unbearable and beyond what he had ever could imagine. The countdown continued and the moans started up again. Everyone was watching the bottles. Only Michael could not see that it was getting down to just a few. He had no more sense of time. Just ongoing pain with no relief. His moaning had become barely a whisper and he moved very little.
And then a nurse whispered to the doctor " This is the last bottle doctor"
The doctor removed the very last specimen and whispered something to Michael. He couldn't move his arms but he was still on his side with both hands laying on the gurney in front of him. He tried to make a gesture with his hands or a fist but he was too weak. Then his doctor and the nurses and his dad could just make out a simple thumbs up movement and a smile towards his dad. His dad held a big thumbs up back to his son and watched him slip into a coma. Dr Thomas looked up at Michael's dad with a weary smile of thanks and whispered," it is over" "It is finished" Thank you for your son and all he did for humanity today. If it is at all comforting, your Michael lasted longer than I thought physically possible under such extreme circumstances and because he did,he will get his wish. Absolutely everyone will receive the vaccine and live.
The small group of doctors didn't feel like celebrating. It was a monumental achievement and a history breaking medical break through that soon would be saving lives all over the world. And the little team cleaned up and moved Michael to a private room where his dad could be with him.
Another team arrived to whisk the precious bottles away to create the vaccination. It had been previously decided it would in fact be named " Michaels vaccination" in his honour. But Michaels part would never be really known by very many people.
Michaels dad sat in a chair holding his son's hand. Michael was in a coma and life support machines were keeping him alive for the moment. His dad just wanted to have a bit more time to say goodbye.
One by one some men and women came over to him. No longer with caps and gowns the whole team and come to say thank you. The last to enter the room was Dr Thomas. Michael's dad stood up and stretched out to shake his hand and thank him. Instead the doctor embraced him and held him and started to sob. Then he composed himself and whispered.
" He did it . That stubborn wonderful son of yours, he literally will save them all ..everyone single one.........
A small obituary in the local paper showed that Michael died in the hospital that same day. Most of the town were devastated by the loss of another of their friends to the "Killer disease"
Less than two weeks later the World Health Organization held a press conference that was broadcast on every major tv network , every radio station and all social media all around the World, They introduced the miracle vaccine that they were confident would end the plague. They gave a simple description of what it would do and how soon it would be available in all countries. It would reach all the big cities and towns across the world within days and Organizations like Red Cross and World Vision were going to get it to the most remote regions and villages as quickly as possible. Oh and it was called "Michaels s Vaccine"

Just checking in I bought a Acer C710 Chromebook in August of 2013 and its still hasn't crashed,Still working as good as the day I bought it.

My one and only issue I have with it is  PRINTING,If Google could resolve this I would totally recommend it to many of my clients.

So I finally setup the Chromebook to a full size monitor it was driving me crazy that when I closed the lid on the laptop it would shut the external screen down,Till I read that if I just touch any key on the external keyboard it would wake the screen up on the full display, Works perfectly now.Its way better having a bigger screen and way cheaper than buying prescription glasses :)

Awhile back I bought one of those Android TV Boxes to stream TV and Movies,Worked really well have to say,But then I got thinking why can't I do this with a regular computer and hook it up via HDMI to a TV.
I know many newer laptops have HDMI out and the Mac Mini also has this option. So here is a how to video if any are interested.

My question is why the time on the iPhone at beginning of your bend is 2:26pm on the phone and time frame of video is 1:38/4:30

And as the video goes on, The time on the phone is 1:59pm at 2:34/4:30 in the video

I’m a little lost as how that can happen please explain.

Thats the problem +Miguel Chavez If your going to do a review about something like this where you can possibly damage sales of an item you have to make a video from start to finish with no stopping in between,If not than the viewer  will never know if this is staged or real.

The only issue I would have before I would recommend a Chromebook would be Printing,Google has to make this an easier experience and cloud printing is not an easy option

+Brenda Cisneros take a look at the Epson Workforce line. Really slick scan to cloud capability. Pretty easy to set up as well. Drop your doc in the feeder, mash three buttons and off it goes to GDrive or Evernote or Dropbox or Box..

Bought a 22" Monitor today to setup my Chromebook as a full size desktop system,So I thought I would try using my chromecast using the HDMI connection here's a small video showing a HD Video,It pauses a lot my internet connection speed is only 8 Meg down
but when I use my Apple TV it works perfect every time.So hopefully they update it and make it more reliable.

But have to say, Getting flash base movies to play on my big TV makes the device still a great gadget to have arround
