Conspiracy theorist claim an ancient Greek sculpture depicts a woman using a 20th century tablet. But historians say it's just a sculpture of a deceased woman reaching for a jewelry box or wax tablet.

Jewelry box? Box of sweets?
As to why not a laptop? You certainly wouldn't be able to charge it in ancient Greece.
This one is easily debunked.

Person uses #raspberrypi to alert Comcast every time his internet slows

Comcast fails to deliver in a few ways. At least this guy isn't rolling over and taking it.

#Comcast   #raspberrypi
A Comcast customer is using a Raspberry Pi bot that messages the company when the Internet speed gets too slow. The Pi alerts Twitter's API.

The Leopard workstation is back! And it's been refreshed with new optional advanced liquid cooling that reduces CPU temperatures under high load by twenty degrees C. The Leopard boasts 12 GB nVidia GeForce TITAN Z with 5,760 CUDA cores and the world's fastest GPUs and up to an i7-5960X Extreme Edition processor. You'll get the highest possible performance with the most advanced technology. It also has a pretty gorgeous casing. We love being able to look through the case and see all of its guts. Check it out http://bit.ly/1QvCFzO

For those interested in using a distro that is different from what we ship our systems with, keep in mind that not all distros will work yet - since the Skylake chipset just released. Read more from Jay LaCroix, who experiments with different distros in his Lemur review:  https://jaylacroix.com/index.php/2016/01/23/system76-lemur-late-2015-notes/#more-422 #ubuntu #linux
Hello everyone, I figured I would create this article on my blog to detail my experiences with this laptop. I'll write about any quirks, what I've found that works, doesn't work, etc. I will update this post every now and then as I discover new things. Update (01-23-2016) ...

ATTN: As a non-LTS release, 15.04 has a 9-month support cycle and, as such, it has reached its end today. This means that ‪#‎Ubuntu‬ Security Notices will no longer include information or updated packages for #Ubuntu 15.04.

+Thurman J. Lewis - system76-driver for Xenial has been in our daily PPA for a while, but not yet in our stable PPA. Usually I don't add it to the stable PPA till a few weeks prior to the Ubuntu release.

Mozilla Foundation is cutting ties with Thunderbird, so what now? Never fear because a new Linux-friendly, open source email client called N1 is a capable alternative.
Jack shows how to set up and use the Nylas N1 email client -- which he says is perhaps the best option for the average Linux user.

About the whole sync server controversy -> I guess Nylas doesn't want bug reports from people running the sync server outside of their "container (virtualbox actually)", that has a predictable environment. Trying to build and run the sync server on our own machine sounds like an interesting side project, and would solve that particular problem (one could make it so that, as soon as the gui starts, it spawns the sync server, instead of relying on Nylas' instance).

Very cool Keila. #scale14x

Keila Banks is an inner city Los Angeles student, a coder, and a seasoned presenter, having delivered her first presentation at SCaLE 11x when she was just 11 years old. I spoke with Keila about her SCaLE 14x talk, the future of open source, and getting teens exposed to technology conferences. Following is an edited transcript of that interview.

What an impressive website! I'm very taken by it. It is on a par with the computers you folks offer the public.October 2013 bought this Gazp9 that I'm using: October 2014 bought another Gazp9 for my wife Great computers. You can be sure this website is bookmarked. Keep up the great work of offering an alternative the market needs to know about. Sincerely, to be sure. HKJ

I got a kudu pro. Really nice machine. I've been hearing about System76 for years on The Linux Action Show. I finally broke down and bought one. It's the best computer I've ever owned. It's so nice to have everything work under linux out of the box.
