"It's absurd and profound at the same time and seems to strike to the heart of the human need for expression".

Check out ABC's take on Three Acts, Two Dancers, One Radio Host. The show reinvents the way you might think about the relationship between radio and dance. Have your chance to be a part of the audience in this wonderfully entertaining work http://bit.ly/1rsv5OM

Prince’s recent Concert Hall performances were masterclasses, electric and virtuosic. The sails were lit purple in his honour. Sydney Opera House joins with Prince fans everywhere in mourning the passing of a great artist.

We had an amazing time watching this event. The opera house is beautiful inside and has great acoustics for shows like this. We were seated 3 quarters of the way back and could still see everything and hear everything really well. Great view of the harbour and nightlife during intermission. Highly recommend seeing a show there.

I've never been much of a theatre fan, but had to visit Sydney Opera House on my 3 day visit to Sydney. We went to see a play called "Anything Goes", it was spectacular, we sat in the right hand side bay overlooking the stage and enjoyed it thoroughly. The Opera House itself is an absolute gem. Although no photography was allowed once inside the theatre I can still remember the structural architecture of it now and it's absolutely magnificent. I would highly recommend seeing a play or show here on your visit and seeing the Opera House in the light of day and at night when it's lit up, it's fantastic!

This place is an architectural wonder of the world. Not only is the design one that reminds some of boat sails. It reminds me of shark teeth frankly. What a visionary work for now or any other time. The exterior is composed of ceramic tiles that give an gleam that is nearly blinding. I did the hour tour and it is well worth it. My advice make sure you have a bottle of cold water with you as I could not find any cold water at the site.

Absolutely stunning place to visit. Came here and did not even know that the sails were separate buildings. Always used to think it was one big complex. When I was here they were undertaking renovation works which I assume are finished now. Great photo opportunity here, touch one of the sails and you'll be able to tell everyone about it.

After attending many wonderful events at the SOH I had the total misfortune of attending the Josh Groban concert in the Concert Hall. I have listened to recordings of Josh Groban and thought he had a beautiful voice well worth listening to live. What a mistake. Am I the only person in the theatre who was not deafened by the cacophony ? Absolutely appalling sound production. The SSO was totally distorted as was the voice of Mr Groban. I could not discern a single sung word and I was totally dismayed. Did no one test the sound level? Congratulations to the trumpeter. That alone was excellent. In order to protect my hearing I left at interval. Am I alone in thinking that this event was ghastly? If so, does this mean that everyone else was completely deaf or is this now standard practice to have a "screaming" performance in the Concert Hall and I am swirling alone in the wilderness wondering what happened to music?

Saw Madam Butterfly, absolutely amazing! Jeopardy Answer: "One of the most photographed buildings in the world, it sits on Port Jackson's Bennelong Point." Jeopardy Question: "What is the Sydney Opera House?" Remember to walk through the gift shop on your way out, some amazing finds.

Awesome place to check out, definitely need to see it at least once. Its a cool place to take photos and watch the sunset. Fun fact, the Sydney Opera House's architecture was inspired by an orange wedge.

This review is for the Opera House "Tour and Tasting Plate". Went with a group of American clients and they really enjoyed the brunch-like tasting plate served at the Opera Kitchen before the tour. This is one of the restaurants on the mezzanine level in front (and along the western side) of the Opera House. The sampler menu consists of fresh sushi, prawns, plank-roasted salmon, mini wagyu and chicken burgers, dumplings etc. Because it is served on a 3-tiered plate (like high tea) and is shared between two, it helps to create a friendly, talkative atmosphere.
