My wife and I stayed here mid-week in April 2015 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We absolutely loved the resort. It has a laid back relaxing feel, which is just what we wanted. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our suite was across the road bridge from the main resort, recently totally renovated and comfortable in every way. The hot tub on our patio was private and the spa water amazing. The pool area was nice with a rustic feel with the pool water natural that didn't have a chlorine smell. The pool was large enough for laps. We also appreciated our suite being just off of a walking and bike path to Avila Beach and a restaurant just a half-mile walk away. We look forward to a return visit. Michael S.

This review is just about the hot springs themselves (I just came for the day). The good: the baths are private and individual, and we liked that they had whimsical names and are perched on a hill under sycamore trees, with proper sulphur smells. The bad: we could see and hear cars wizzing by from the road bellow. This really detracted from the relaxing atmosphere and otherwise lovely grounds.

Hot tubs are amazing! Extremely private and a wonderful getaway for a very reasonable price.

After 700 miles on the road this is the place to be! Climbed into the hot tub (mineral spring fed) and the road melted away, very relaxing.

This was one of the worst places I've stayed at. We stayed there for a wedding one weekend, and the price we were told was different than the price we paid, and no we calculated the taxes so taxes were included. The room we stayed in had a tub, but when letting the water in, it smelled like rotten eggs. After the wedding were told that there was a curfew at 10pm, which was about the time we came back to the room from the wedding. Once in the room after curfew, the TV was an older tube TV with lines all over the picture. For the price of the room, you would've expected them to have better equipment, especially if we are forced to stay in our rooms after 10pm. I usually stay in Pismo/Avila/SLO when visiting the coast, but next time I come on vacation, this will be one place I will NEVER stay at again. The wedding guests who didn't stay where we were had better things to say about a Motel 6 not too far, so maybe next time we will give that a try, or maybe just keep going to Pismo.

Family and I come here every winter before Christmas for 3 nights or so. Its a nice escape from Southern California and our kids love the sulphur bath too. Ive never tried the Garden restaurant, not the fare im looking for when there is great stuff to be had in Avila or of course SLO. Prices do seem do be increasing, and based on the majority of guests i think it has do do with the same folks hyper inflating real estate in Southern California.

While I’ve never stayed here, I’ve used the hot tubs/individual mineral springs many a time. There are few finer ways to relax after a difficult day.

I wouldn't stay again. The staff is super friendly but the layout of the place is undesirable with lots of road noise, feels like a city condo you have to walk thru the busy parking lot all the time. (Queen rooms). Kings are newer, nicer and more relaxed but remote.
