#Armenia has caught my heart. I am collaborating with Anna Gargarian of +HAYP Pop Up Gallery on this upcoming project. Here is a great introductory post by Anna about all the people and connections that have created this project. Thanks to +John Stanmeyer and our storytelling family that traveled to Gyumri in March 2016. Learn all about it here. And please share! xoS

I am returning to #Armenia  in early November to offer a four day book building workshop to a group of women artists in Gyumri. There, in that densely beautiful and chaotic landscape I hope to reignite the #Bookarts  with women artists, who are a vastly un-tapped resource in Armenia. Please share this post with those who might be interested in making a tax-deductible donation to this project. #Womenartists  in Armenia, as anywhere, provide a unique lens on human experience and I hope to help raise their voices this fall. xoS

My new fall ebook is here! Symbols In Stitches: Colorwork Patterns from Lithuania. It's a stitch library, a history of the meaning of symbols in Lithuania, and it has patterns to make hats, scarves, mittens, and wrist warmers.

Save $5 with coupon code "symbols".

If you're new to Lithuanian Knitting, you'll find links to my YouTube videos to help expand your skills.

If you have Lithuanian Knitting: Continuing Traditions, this is a perfect companion to let you make matching sets of accessories or design your own with the symbols that speak to you most.

We are the mothers of every single un-housed soul in the Middle East, floating on less-than-seaworthy vessels towards a new frontier. May they find welcome, may they find shelter, and may they find work. May we each be the welcome they seek. We are the mothers of children who will live with the results of the actions you and I take today, right now, in this moment. Will you offer the world the beauty that you can? Or will you pass your time waiti...

A couple of years ago I noticed a bump on my hip. The shallow secret is that when I first saw it, I thought it was that I had lost weight and it was a bone that could be seen. The hollow-eyed, calorie-counting, laxative-popping, over-exercising girl that I was for a few years in college … … Continue reading →

Introduction

Suzi Banks Baum grew up on the shores of the Great Lakes in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She spent the early part of her professional life as a theatre artist in New York City. An artist her entire life, she began making collages with Life magazine images at four and had her first theatrical success playing a rat in the Pied Piper of Hamelin at age seven. Suzi’s artistic collaboration of postal art can be seen at www.femailart.com.
