Kansas is one of the few American states I haven't visited. My husband is from PIttsburgh with an "H". Based on your post, I might suggest that we try visiting the Kansas one without the "h".

I 100% agree with both of you that the Grand Canyon National Park tops the list. Of the others you picked, I've only been to Yellowstone (a VERY long time ago) and Haleakala. We definitely need a return visit to Haleakala because when we visited, at the information ranger station at the top, there were gale force winds, sideways rain and wind chill of 28 degrees Fahrenheit. The Statue of Liberty is another that I visited when I was in elementary school and definitely deserves a repeat visit. I can also recommend Independence National Historical Park in my hometown of Philadelphia, part of the most historic square mile in the United States.
