This brought back memories of a Carnival cruise my sisters and I took from LA that stopped at Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. It was the first time I had spent that much time with my sisters in a loooong time. We didn't do a ship's excursion. but spent a very nice day, walking through the town and doing a little hiking. I was a little surprised that I walked faster than my 2 younger sisters. ;-)

I love this post, Carole. When we told people about our planned trips to Mexico and Colombia, their first question is where they should send the ransom money. However, like you, we have found beautiful people all over the world, including in those 2 countries. The Golden Rule is the same all over the world. Treat people the way you would like to be treated.

This is a great post to bookmark for anyone contemplating a trip to Phoenix and/or southern Arizona. We visited a few of them as an add on to a work trip some years ago. As soon as we landed in Phoenix, there was a "Toto, I don't believe we're in Philadelphia anymore" moment.

I still have my RV fantasy. And, I still have to convince Mr. Excitement that we should give an RV trip a try. He is starting to dislike cold weather more and more, so I'll emphasize commandment #1!

We've downsized twice. I continue to have a fantasy about a prolonged RV road trip. There is so much to see in the United States and some places do not have readily available hotels. Unfortunately, my beloved does not share my RV fantasy.

I still have a fantasy of going on a long RV road trip in the US and Canada. Alas, Mr. Excitement does not share my enthusiasm for trying it out. I have your book for ideas.

Wow! Your photos tell the story of the warmth of the Filipino people. Unfortunately, we have only "visited" the airport in Manila. However, our digital nomad son has visited the Philippines several times.
