Would you say email is faltering behind SMS marketing? If so, why?

In the past Email marketing was one of the most successful tools a marketing company had in their arsenal. However over the last 10 years their effectiveness has started to diminish. SMS marketing is now becoming more and more common, with a performance which is greater than email marketing.

New contributor  +Chelsea Potter analyses the effectiveness of both.

Which do you prefer?

Have you overlooked any of these ways to personalize your brand?

A brand is not just about a logo or some witty quip said to customers as they come through the door. The personalization of the experience is an element which builds memories of a valuable brand and it’s through this experience that customers will return time and time again all-the-while triumphing your brand to all whom will listen.

How to Get People to Care About Your Crap on Google +

I've struggled to get better engagement on G+, so I was thrilled when +Ivana Taylor found this. It's genius. I love easy-to-follow formulas.

Question: do you use hashtags on G+? I haven't really, so not sure which ones are being used, compared to Twitter. I'll give it a shot.
#socialmedia #contentmarketing

Do YOU have other tips that can help me get more attention on G+?

Do You Know The Anatomy of a Perfect Google+ Post?

In studying the most successful Google+ posts, people and pages over the last couple of years I've found seven components that make up, what I believe to be, the perfect Google+ post

Posts that include these components (shown in the image below) tend to get more engagement than others and tend to spread faster.

Read the full article here: http://dustn.ws/1frtZWA

Although I believe that there are many exceptions to this formula (we've all see how a simple cat meme can amass massive engagement without any commentary) there are certain reasons why these components work.

I'd love to hear your thoughts (after you read the full article of course) on what you've seen work and what you've experienced here on Google+. Share your thoughts in the comments!

P.S. Anybody catch what I did right there? ;)

+Ivana Taylor over the next 3 weeks I'll be transitioning out of my full time position with a t-shirt design/printing company where I design shirts and manage all the web properties. I'll be full time consulting from home after that time, but until the the weekdays are booked for me. If you could do a weekend, that would be great. If you like, you can contact me here: http://dustn.tv/contact - and we'll set something up.

Francesca made our trip to Genova absolutely stupendous. She took us through the streets of old Genova, showing us things we wouldn't have found in a tour book. She took us to a pest shop, showed us the butcher, fishmonger, and tripe shop, all providing local flavor (literally). The icing on the pannetone was the cooking class at Creattivando. The hosts were lovely, and we had so much fun cooking pesto and cappo magro. I highly recommend a tour with her.

I didn't know what to expect with my first float, and found the experience surreal. At first, it was unnerving to not know if I'd been in the tank for 5 minutes or an hour, but once I let go, it was super relaxing.

Not only does this dry cleaning joint do a great job on clothes, but they actually market their business. They're on Facebook, Yelp and Google. I don't know; that just impresses me. Service is always friendly. I like that they ask for my name, not my phone number. Makes me feel like, well, not a number.

We took a staycation the week of Thanksgiving at Bahia and got a free night when we stayed 3 (total 4). The place was quiet but beautiful. We missed out on the free steamboat ride, but that's a great perk, as is the free parking and wifi. The pool and hot tub is huge, and if you like old school video games, the game room can keep you entertained. The restaurant was really good, and not outrageously priced. Would definitely go back.
