I had a terrible experience at your hotel (London, Tower Hill). When I checked in, the woman at reception was rude. I didn't get the room that I paid for - a fact I only discovered actually I had to move to another room at 2am after the power went out in my room and the staff was unable to fix it. I paid for a city view room and received a room that had a half window, and was so small I could barely edge my way around the bed. The room I was moved to had three windows on two walls and was generous with its spacing. The staff told me that the room I was in originally was "superior" because the bed - two mattresses shoved together - was slightly larger than the bed in the larger room that actually HAD a city view. During my stay, I kept the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door at all times, as this was a business trip. One morning, the housekeeping staff came into my room while I was half dressed to "make sure I meant it" when I had the sign on the door. I addressed all of these concerns with the reception staff when I checked out, and they said they couldn't do anything to make up for it. I contacted the @MotelOne twitter account, who similarly ignored my suggestion that taking a night's stay off my bill would be a reasonable to make up for the various unpleasant experiences I had. Under these circumstances, I would never, ever recommend Motel One to any of my colleagues or friends.
