Surry Community College will be adding Sports Medicine Technology to its offering of healthcare programs. The two-part course is designed for students who want to work in the field of Sports Medicine such as athletic training, personal training, physical therapy, performance enhancement, occupational therapy, and orthopedics just to name a few. The Nursing Pinning and Graduation Ceremony was held May 14, at Temple Baptist Church in Mount Airy. Kiena Williams, Nurse Educator at SCC, was the guest speaker. She reflected upon situations that graduates might encounter in nursing. She also presented the pins.

A total of 44 students from North Surry and Surry Central High schools recently visited the Latent Evidence Lab at Surry Community College. They were able to participate in experiments led by SCC instructor Kyle James and the college’s Latent Evidence students.

Located in the NC foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Introduction
Surry Community college's main campus is located in Dobson, NC in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains servicing Surry and Yadkin counties. We also operate the Workforce Development Center in Mount Airy, the Yadkin Center in Yadkinville, the Pilot Center in Pilot Mountain, and The Elkin Center in Elkin.

We offer 36 areas of study, many of which have options for an associate degree, diploma or certificate, as well as online degrees.

In addition, the college serves over 18,000 students in over 1,500 classes through our Corporate and Continuing Education division. This area of the college offers a variety of learning opportunities through “not-for-credit” classes for those looking to take a one-time class for personal enrichment or to expand their knowledge base in a particular area.
