Took my niece to get her hair braided and they did a fantastic job. Quoted us over the phone and we were able to get an appointment the same day. Actually git there late due to severe delays on 400 but the braider was extremely understandable and friendly. My niece showed her pics of exactly what she wanted. The braider delivered and completed her box braids in less than 4 hours. The space is small and had a little unpleasant odor (not sure if it was surrounding businesses or not) but they are great at what they do. We will be back. Thanks!

Prices and services change by the minute. I stopped by 2 weeks prior to my appointment to get a quote for exactly what I wanted.. box braids with a large bun. I also took a picture of the style I wanted to achieve and also showed them what I currently didn't like about my current box braids. Simple and clear enough so I thought... After 8 hours of my time and $205, I had a very small bun (they refused to braid the length needed to achieve a full bun unless I paid them and extra $80 to $100 on the spot), hair used that was NOT human as promised, and a horrible stand off with the owner Fatima. And the kicker was that they ask me to pay even before the services were complete...which I refused. Stay clear of this place unless you have time and money to waste. They quote you a low price to get you in the door and then explain that the style you want is going to be much much more. Shady Shady Shady... Won't be returning. I added hair and lengthen my own hair to achieve what I wanted, not sure why it was so hard for them since they are the "professionals".

GREAT service! My micro braids are the best I've ever had. The stylists are nice and actually talk to you while doing your hair! They have reasonable prices and are professional. The braids are the same size throughout (sometimes braiders will part the spaces really big in the back). The salon is so clean and well put together. I felt so comfortable. This a rare place, please try them out!

I've been coming to Sunu on and off for 4 years and had Fatima do my hair previously when she was at another salon. I have had very good experiences here and I have never had the price change on me. The price I'm quoted on the phone is the price I pay. Now its the only place I go to have my braids done.

Almost a five. I went in today for Senegalese Twists. My appointment was at 9 am and I was out by 1ish. The positives: -No Wait -Friendly Women -Super Fast -Love My Hair Room for improvement: - Gentleness on a clients head. The lady's were fast but heavy handed. I would have liked a little more finessing overall -Cigarette Lighter on my roots to seal them! I had to swiftly decline that sealing process. - Pricing.... Over the phone I was quoted 170 but ended up paying 190. When I got to the salon, I was told I was given the box braid quote and that it was 10 bucks more. Okay, No problem. After my hair was done and I purchased some Shea Butter, I was out the door. Happy. Until, someone chased me down and said it was actually 10 more than the 180. I just gave her the 10 dollars with a major sideye. Lost a potential longtime client with that one. My intention was to return upon leaving the salon but after she asked for more money after the price was already changed before, I won't be back unless I'm given 20 off my next visit. Square up. LOL. Overall, if you are able to have them stick to the quote given this place would be great. The work is amazing but business practice is a bit disappointing. I'll put it like this, if someone else (boyfriend, gift, etc.) were to pay for my tress upgrade, I would totally go back. I was really hoping the reviews were wrong about the up charges. Side Note: For previous reviewers and like minded people. Anyone going to an African salon to get African braids should NOT have a problem with them speaking their language. Instead of complaining ask them to teach you some of the language. Ask them where they are from. Might as well take advantage of the long period in that chair. Most likely you don't know your native tongue because you're displaced. There is no pleasing you assimilated negros. Who cares what they are saying, put your earphones in and get your hair braided. Geesh. Have many seats, enough to fill the New Atlanta braves stadium!! _/ _/ _/ _/ _/

I wanted my 7 year old daughter's hair braided before taking her to my parents’ home to spend a week of summer break. Fatima quoted me a fair price so I made an appointment for the only time that we could go during our busy week. From the very beginning service was THE WORST THAT I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! 1) We waited over 1.5 hrs before the stylist decided that she was ready to do my daughter's hair! I would have left but I really needed to get my daughter's hair braided so my parents wouldn't have to deal with it during the following week. 2) The whole time that we waited they alternated talking in English and in a foreign language and kept watching us while they chatted, ate, and visited with shop visitors and “unofficial” vendors all while customers were in their styling chairs. 3) When I was finally ready to walk out, they took my daughter and started by washing her hair as I requested when they asked. The drying process was FAR WORSE than the horror that I remember of getting my hair done at home when I was small, but instead of at least trying to be gentle the stylist pulled, yanked, and “dried” my daughter's hair without mercy! 4) It took 2.5 hrs to finish what had been originally quoted as taking 1 to 1.5 hours. 5) At the end when noticing that I wasn't happy with the HORRIBLE treatment, they chatted (again in a foreign language) while looking at me a few times and the stylist increased the price (by $10) clearly marked beside our name because she said it cost more to wash hair and isn't included in the basic price. I wish I had read the other reviews about Sunu Hair Salon and I NEVER would have subjected my daughter to that horror!! When the stylist finally finished at 9pm (our appointment was 4:30). I would NEVER recommend this salon to anyone and ESPECIALLY NOT for a parent trying to find a braider for their child.

You are quoted a price and then at the end they change it.to a higher prince. The prices need to be posted. There are some people in the shop that do very good work. They need to do a better job in being honest with the customers concerning the styles that each person does best. If they were up front with the customers and did not try to charge them for every single thing, I feel that they would have a loyal customer following. There are two many shops in the Sandy Springs area to not be treated with courtesy and honesty. There work is good, but people must be able to trust them. Also, they should not be carrying on so many conversations in their native language.

I just had a baby and am not working, so my time is important and money is scarce. For this reason, I called many salons and talked to them about price and time before actually settling on Sunu. I talked to the owner and specifically told her I wanted human hair for the style I wanted. The price she quoted was very reasonable for what I wanted, so I eventually made an appointment. The day of my appointment I repeated that I wanted human hair, asked how long it would be, and discussed the type of hair to put in my hair ( straight, curly, wavy, etc). I wanted straight hair but the stylist recommended wavy, because of my hair texture. I told her I wanted something that would look good and last. She assured me it would so I went with her recommendation. She did a good job and my hair looked good, but she dipped my hair in hot water when she was done. I commented that I didn't know human hair got dipped in hot water. I've only seen synthetic hair dipped. Well it's been about a month and she used synthetic hair to do my hair. The ends of my hair look like a out wig when I'm out. I have to take my hair out sooner than I want to and I have no money to get it done again. I was charged for human hair and got synthetic. Very unethical
