Sunnybrook residents (Elaine, Betty, Curly, Coleen, Anna, and Stanley) and server (in back: Jason) recited the Pledge of Allegiance for local radio station, 101.7 The Bull. It was a a great treat to show how much pride we have for our country. We hope you were able to hear it on the radio, if not, you can also find it on 101.7 The Bull's Facebook page.

The Fort Madison Middle School Choir stopped by to sing a few songs for the SunnyBrook Community. They did a great job and it was a special treat for our residents. We are very much appreciative of their time and consideration to make us one of their stops!

Resident John Barker presented a talent that he has done since the 1980's. John created these beautiful wood carvings and his wife painted them. He mentioned how he enjoys working with wood and would very much like to talk shop with other wood carvers. If you're a wood-carving enthusiast as well, come by and say hi to John. We hope to see you for the next Life Long Learning Series!

#WhatsCookingWednesday? BLT sandwiches on toasted bread, a pickle spear, side carrots and celery with ranch. That is what's cooking here at Sunnybrook! We never go hungry around here and love to share our food with others. Stop in anytime. We can't wait to see you!

Resident Spotlight this week is Colleen Kirchner. Colleen became a part of our Sunnybrook family in August of 2009. When the building was first being built, she and her husband would purposely drive by, knowing Sunnybrook is where they would call home. "It was the best move we made". Colleen likes how congenial everyone is at SunnyBrook, "You can have a friend if you want a friend". Colleen currently leads the daily workouts each morning for all of the SunnyBrook residents. When she is not breaking a sweat, she enjoys reading books from our personal library, playing bingo, Wii bowling with her other resident team members, and our casino trips. She's always a joy and we love having her here.
