Brown Pelican, Original Oil Painting on Canvas

#art #artist #artwork #painting #oilpainting #palette #originalart #artistic #pelicans #louisiana #birdsgallery

From the Artist +Calina Lefter.

The brown pelican is the state bird of Louisiana. It is the only bird that to dive into the water from 30 feet above to capture the prey. These large birds use their elastic pouches to catch the fish. I realized this portrait of pelican because I've always been fascinated by the beauty of the brown pelican and her hunting skills.

Last coat of gloss varnish gives preciousness and protects artwork by harmful external factors.

I use high quality color and gallery wrap or gallery wrap style canvas (has staples at the back), the edges are already colored in harmony with the rest of the composition, so it can be hung on the wall already.

Seeing The Galaxy For The First Time by Michael Shainblum

From the Photographer

Do you remember the first time you looked up at an unpolluted sky and viewed the wonders of the Galaxy? I remember the first time I did. I was working on my Timelapse film: "EXISTENCE," at Mount Figueroa in Los Olivos, California. We were desperately trying to figure out where the galaxy was going to rise, so that I could do my first ever Milky Way Timelapse. The moment I saw the Galaxy, I knew it would be something I would want to keep photographing for the rest of my life.

On this specific night, my girlfriend brought her sister and her sister's friend up with us. They had never seen dark sky before, and were pretty astonished when we got out of the car. I figured it would be fun to do some portraits of them with my LED headlamp. If you are curious about the attire, it was a hot summer night in California.

Milky Way in the Colorado Plateau

#nightphotography #milkyway #milkywayphotography #colorado #landscapephotography #travelphotography #amazingphotos

From the Photographer

In a remote area of the Colorado plateau is a fascinating expanse of undulating sandstone punctuated with dozens of "potholes," some more than 50 feet deep. In many of the holes you can find pools of water and plant life, including a few with good-sized cottonwood trees growing up out of them.

I particularly love being out under the stars in such surreal locations. It's both humbling and exhilarating staring up at our Milky Way and realizing our solar system is one of billions in our galaxy, which itself is just one of billions of galaxies in the cosmos. Quite a lesson in perspective.

What People Really Mean When They Say They Can’t Afford Your Artwork

There’s a huge difference between “I can’t afford it.” And “your prices are too high.”  And most likely, even if you lowered your prices, people wouldn’t have a sudden change of heart and buy a bunch of your art anyway.

#art #artist #artwork +Joanna Haber +Kesha Bruce
If you’ve been exhibiting and selling your art professionally for any amount of time, you’ve probably heard the following many, many times: “I love your work.  I wish I could afford to buy a piece!” “I don’t have the ...

What they mean is that they would rather eat than buy your art. If that photo of the clown is your art I'll most certainly pass.

Ktog = Knit Together: Oil Knitting Canvas

Art by graphic designer, painter and illustrator +Rania Hassan .

#art #artist #artwork #painting #painter #illustrator #knitting #oilpainting +Etsy

From the Artist

I am fascinated by the connections we find in our everyday experiences. How do we think of our place in this world? How do we fit in it?

My work is about levels of connectedness. I paint, draw, and knit to represent these moments. We are all connected somehow.

This series started because of my fascination with knitting, love for painting, and intrigue in the community I’ve found online with knitters from around the world. I think about how it links me to my mother, her mother, and all the generations of women who came before them.

The fingers in the pieces are my own, and the knitting is all free formed while in transit. In the needle, yarn and finger movements, I explain how the act of knitting connects us to our community and generations past.

This piece was designed to float on your wall. You can arrange the two connected paintings any way you like: Side by side, above each other, the possibilities are endless.

The sides of the gallery stretched canvas were painted so it won't require framing and is ready to hang on your wall.

This used to be a nice place and had good staff. I specifically liked the guy Dhanush and looks like he left the job at this place. I went to the place and spent 5 minutes explaining to the guy what kind of haircut I needed and he came back and said... today we don't have anyone who is specialized in working on Long hair

Located in a pretty good place. However if you go during the peak hours you may not find a parking spot. Fully functioning ATM with check and cash deposit facilities.
