As medical codes continue to be an increasingly important aspect of personal injury law, I thought I would do this blog.  CPT-10 has been delayed to October 1, 2015, but there is much confusion over it's impact to doctors and, to some extent, lawyers.

Good advice from +David Slepkow .  In my experience, most insurance agents due a terrible job explaining the importance of certain coverages.  Most clients I meet with have no idea what they're covered for in their auto policy.
All motorists, homeowners and others should check their insurance policies regularly to see whether their insurance coverage is in conformity with their lives and whether they are adequately protected. This post will spotlight two cases out of Rhode Island in which the RI Courts determined that a person had no insurance coverage insuring a particular loss despite the fact that the consumer had purchased insurance. Both of these cases are cautionary tales for consumers.

A lot has been said about the hazards of texting and driving, and the increased odds of an auto accident injury while texting.  Walking while texting can also have a bad ending!

I've written several blogs about the ability of social media to harm the potential for a desirable settlement.  Sites like Facebook can have a very negative impact on an automobile accident injury claim.  Here is a new angle which demonstrates how social media can derail a settlement that has already been achieved.  There are many reasons why the outcome of litigation should not be posted on Facebook or other sites, and violating a confidentiality agreement is certainly one of them.

I am always very careful with the wording of confidentiality agreements.  I also will not allow such clauses when an insurer or other defendant sticks confidentiality language into a settlement agreement when it was never discussed during negotiations.  When such a clause is part of the settlement agreement, it is imperative that the attorney explain to the client(s) how important it is to observe the confidential nature of the settlement.  Do not assume that just because your client(s) signed the agreement that they will understand the repercussions  involved if they violate the terms.
