Today most devices are like tamagoshi: you need to charge them every day, or else they die :-) And this becomes an annoyance soon or later. Even a digital watch needs battery replacement once in a while, but for a watch, it's like months or years.
Of course, recharging is just an example. Think about gloves. What if you had to put it into the microwave for 15 minutes before using? Every. Single. Day. Boring, isn't it? Wearable are utilities we never think of, until we need, then use, and then forget again. If you need to care about them, soon you'll leave them at the desk, with only a minor regret.
