The first rhinoceros hornbill I saw on arrival at the lodge at Kari Boardwalk. I usually see at least three species of hornbill (rhinoceros, pied, black) without much effort after two nights stay at the lodge.
Having dinner with my friend, Awang who built over 30 wooden boats for us over the last twenty years until he ran out of wood and decided to go into homestay business with his family members. We are pleased to have helped him along the way to start his own business and improve his life. #entrepreneurship
Hari Raya celebration with staff of Sukau Rainforest lodge. Our family has grown over the last twenty years..All because Kari Ongong asked me to build the lodge so that his people could find employment as he saw that the logging industry boom was coming to an end. Today, we are part of the National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World. All credit to them who have come so far.
Time to take a solar heater hot shower after a great evening of photographing elephants before 7.00 dinner at Melapi restaurant overlooking Kinabatangan River and tropical rainforest. What a way to finish the day of great wildlife and great photography. #wildlifes#pgymyelephants#Kinabatangan
