Located west of Okinawa, Ishigaki is Japan’s premier beach destination and makes a good base to explore the other islands in the Yaeyama archipelago. Blessed with Japan’s best beaches, it is particularly popular with families since the beaches at Fusaki and Maezato are net-protected.

Nature gave this #Krabi boutique hotel three white-sand beaches and cinematic limestone cliff-sides, but it’s the Rayavadee’s owners that have given it four gorgeous restaurants, lush landscaped gardens and a reputation for all-out tropical indulgence. How about a romantic dinner here with your loved one?

Hoodoo? I Do
There are no shortcuts through the mesa at the southern end of Coal Mine Canyon. Reservation land here is owned by the Navajo and Hopi tribes. There has been no mining for years here and time stands still but for the never-ending erosion. I've posted several photos in this last week of the area in northeastern Arizona which is part of the Colorado Plateau. The very deep canyon features many hoodoos, spires and pinnacles in this fascinating place where geology and natural processes of weathering and erosion show us ancient history.

For more about hoodoos, we are used to seeing wonderful features like these at Bryce and Moab, but many people have no idea where are marvelous canyons in Arizona other than the Grand one.
