Space Shuttle #Discovery moves into its new home today at Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum after being decommissioned last year. Shame to see; victim of too little is invested in exploration of space. Prof Brian Cox really argued the case for this in this fantastic TedTalk
Are we alone in the universe? Space explorations are in full swing to find out intelligence in length and breadth of the universe. Enceladus appears to have a huge water ocean underneath it's surface (http://goo.gl/JfPpJ) and lot of places in and around solar system has potential water existence and possible life. This century will be a major leap in space exploration but the sad thing is the very little grant coming out of all governments for this area of research :(
The lack of funding makes me sad. It seems we've lost our sense of adventure. Not to mention all of the side-benefits that come from space research. People tend to see space exploration as frivolous, and a waste of time.
Very true. I know this is slightly an expensive research..but not expensive than spending on military. A small cut from that budget will flourish this research. Funding stymies Innovation and research at every possible turn. Where gone all the curiosities about external adventure?
