So I emailed #Sony
support and eventually got this back...
Looks like the usual nonsense... I'm familiar with this as I went to war with Samsung over my S3 that just died....
Opinions please and please share with anyone who may help.

We are sorry to hear of the issues that you are having with your Sony Smart watch 2 and the device not responding.
We can advise the Sony Limited Warranty covers all manufacturing faults that may occur on your handset and will last for a period of 12 months from the original date of purchase. If during the warranty period your product fails to operate under normal use and service due to a manufacturing fault then your handset will need to be sent to our authorised service centre to be examined under the terms and conditions of the warranty.
This warranty does not cover any failure of the product due to normal wear and tear or due to misuse, including but not limited to use in other than the normal and customary manner in accordance with the Sony instructions for use and maintenance of the product. Nor does this warranty cover any failure of the product due to accident, software or hardware modification/adjustment, acts of God or damage resulting from liquid.
Without an examination we would never we able to say whether it would be a free of charge repair as we are unaware of how the handset has been handled. When the engineers look at the device if they can see its happened of a manufacturing fault then it would be repaired free under the warranty or if we can't fix it we would then replace it on a like for like basis.
In regards of time scale from when the repair center receive the handset the average turn around time is 5 to 7 working days.
Please note that if the damage is not covered by the Sony Limited Warranty, there is a fee of £14.40 + VAT to have your product returned should you not accept the estimated costs for repair or if it is not possible to carry out any repair "
