I'm putting together a team for the Global Learning XPRIZE.
The XPRIZE Foundation is challenging teams from around the world to develop open source and scalable software that will enable children in developing countries to teach themselves basic reading, writing and arithmetic, empowering them to take control of their own learning and ultimately their future.
I'd like to keep the team local to the South West UK if possible, but I'm happy to extend that for the right person. I'd like to start with a team of around 7 - 10 people, including myself.
To be clear, this work will be done in our own time on a voluntary basis. However, if we win a prize (see below) winnings will be split between the team.
I need people with the following skills:
- game design and development
- mobile game development (Android specifically)
- graphic design / art direction
- primary reading/writing/comprehension educator
- primary numeracy educator
- child development specialist
I'll be leading the project, as well as contributing to systems architecture and backend software development.
The development of the solution will take place between April 2015 and September 2016,
Lastly, there is a total prize fund of $15 million. $1 million each for the 5 finalists, and $10 million for the grand prize winner.
This is a challenge that will impact on hundreds of millions of children's lives. If you're interested in being part of something huge, then please get involved.http://learning.xprize.org/
