Striking photograph from +Thomas Paris .
Black church, Búðir.

This church has been photographed a lot (surprise, surprise! ;) but apparently not so much in front of this mountain. And I feel both and it and the square format give the little church a bit more strength, which it will need to make it through Iceland's crazy climate.
As usual, original prints are available for order. And I dare say this one looks gorgeous on paper:

A photo from my recent trip to #Ullapool .

I feel this photo sums up the North-west highlands of #Scotland  quite nicely.

The Cal Mac ferry can be seen navigating Loch Broom, on its way to Ullapool from Stornoway.

The City Of Lights || Paris

From the top of Montparnasse Tower, the sky above Paris explodes with vivid color and light…

I often say that there are certain places in the world that have the power to take my breath away. On my first visit to Paris last fall, the city exceeded all of my expectations and left me with a strong desire for more. I would even go as far to say that the city of lights could quite possibly be the best city in the world for travel photography. I know that's high praise but from my perspective, with the wealth of possibilities for strong and beautiful compositions and the diversity of subject matter, it could definitely be true.

This was shot in August 2013 from the top of Montparnasse Tower on a very hazy and grey day. With less than favorable conditions, I wasn’t expecting much for sunset but when this sky appeared out of the grey, I was completely caught off guard. Within minutes, the viewing platform was flooded with a mob of excited spectators.

Song Of The Sea || Vernazza

One of my favorite things about traveling is getting to experience, what I like to call, "the moment of discovery". It’s that special moment in time that can overwhelm the senses and generate palpable feelings of awe and wonder as a breathtaking scene unfolds before your eyes. In that singular moment, everything you’ve hoped to experience and see in a specific place is perfectly represented and frozen in front of you. The air, the sound, the colors, everything seems to coalesce into pure visual harmony. You’ll know you’ve reached it when the only word that comes to mind is wow…

As a travel photographer, it's those moments of discovery that I’m constantly seeking. It’s also the reason that certain countries and regions, like Italy and Cinque Terre, capture my focus and attention again and again. For me, places like Vernazza represent a harmonious balance between humanity, nature, and the unpredictable aspects of a sometimes turbulent sea. There are few places in the world that can speak directly to my heart and to be honest, Italy houses many of them.

We’ve designed our Italy Photo Tour to include some of the most visually beautiful and impressive locations available–to share in our participants many moments of discovery. Calling on our years of knowledge and experience in this country, our goal is for you to not only come away with an outstanding body of work, but also a greater love and admiration for Italy’s wonderful qualities.

Our next Italy Photo Tour is set for September 25th - October 3rd.

Mirrors hidden in life,
Waiting silently to be found
Listen carefully
And watch closely
Find them
And then ask:

An interesting use of tilt-shift style editing.
Someone on Reddit did a pretty cool tilt-shift edit of my latest photo. I think it's pretty sick! I love the effect it adds onto the Los Angeles skyline.
