Here are my results from a Facebook post experiment I conducted where I was determined to find out what posts would increase social engagement.
More engagement. That's what we're all after on Facebook right? Beyond sharing good article links and lists, how can you build engagement that cements a bond between you and your audience? I'm talking about moving beyond providing “useful” info and more towards them liking you and believing in ...

I tried saying something but I literally froze.  It actually brought me to tears (which was awkward considering I was on stage in front of 160 people).
Picture this… I'm on stage in front of about 160 people just after delivering my “More Money, More Impact” presentation. It was well received and afterwards I was invited back to the stage by Michael Hyatt (who was co-hosting the event with his business partner Ken Davis).

Why do people buy?

In this post I narrowed it down to 7 primary reasons people buy and then share some examples (even some personal) that emphasize that a purchase isn't necessarily made because of a product feature or obvious benefit.
Why do we buy the stuff we buy? Understanding the reasons behind a purchase can really help you position what you have to offer. If you know the “real” reason someone is purchasing from you, marketing your products is much easier and more effective. As the old saying goes, people aren't buying ...

Awesome post +Stu McLaren  This one makes the Evernote file! By the way, loving Rhino Support so far. Been using it for about a week. Should have done this sooner. I can already tell it's going to save me some time!

With the help of an iPhone app, a web service and my assistant, I now have a super simple 3-step process that virtually guarantees my ideas are captured - even when I'm away from my computer.

What’s even better is that when I need to reference these voice memos, I have an audio version, a text version and they are searchable as soon as I get back to my computer.

This is how I do it.
If you've ever had an idea (and weren't at your computer), then you'll love this new 3-step process I've created for capturing my ideas while on the go. I decided to create this process after my drive to the airport. While in my car I decided to listen to some podcasts and inevitably, ...

I Decided To Sell My Business

This was easily the hardest decision I've ever made.  But after years and years of growing a business that I love, with a team that I love, I've decided to sell my interests.

Why would I sell if the business is doing well and I love the people I work with?

I outline my four reasons in this post.

Enjoy!
This feels strange to say, but here goes… I decided to sell my software business, WishList Products and Rhino Support. What makes this even more strange is that… There was absolutely nothing wrong with the business or the people I was in business with. In fact, I love my business partners, ...

Hey David... I'm flattered... thanks for thinking of me.

With that said, I am very guarded about my evenings and weekends.  I save that time for my family so I won't be able to this time around.

But definitely keep me posted in the future.

All the best.

I gotta admit, when I got a text from my wife at 4:02am this morning I thought something had happened.

She's in India right now and we usually don't chat until later in the morning because of the time zone difference.  But as it turns out, everything was ok and she was just very excited about her new business idea.

Then of course, I couldn't get back to sleep either because my mind was racing with ideas for her new venture.

But here's what I will tell you...

This idea has been a LONG time coming.  But after seeing what's happened during her trip and the impact it's had on her clarity, I'm going to be more intentional about following the steps outlined in my latest blog post.

What do you do when you need to get clear about an idea or project?
It's 4:22am as I begin writing this and I'm wide awake because my wife sent me a text from India and I haven't been able to sleep since. She's had a breakthrough and I'd like to share how you can do the same if you are unclear about a new idea, project or business concept.

Anyone else ever struggle with the fear of launching something new?

Recently a had a bunch of "aha" moments when analyzing why it took so long (2 years) to launch our latest venture (Rhino Support).

The core issue was a mental block and in this post I share 5 steps for getting over the "hump" and launching your next project.
What project of yours has been “in the works” for way too long? Why haven't you launched it yet? For over two years my team and I have been working on one of our biggest projects to date and although it was “technically” ready about 8 months after we started, something held us (cough, cough, ...

My only concern these days is actually with EVS serving up videos for mobile devices.  I haven't had good luck with it and have since switched all my "protected videos" to VimeoPRO and/or Wistia.
